28: Family

3 YEARS LATER...

If you asked Mati where she would be 4 years ago ang masasabi niya lang sayo ay puro career plans kasi doon lang naman nagrerevolve ang utak niya. Her work was her home pero mula noong makilala niya si Ethan at Gray ay parang may kakaibang makeover na nangyari sa mga plano niya sa buhay. Who would have thought na ikakasal siya? Not her, not even in her wildest dreams.

She wants to thank all her lucky stars dahil sa swerteng tinatamasa niya ngayon. She is married to a loving guy and a mother to a very intelligent and fun-loving four year old. Mati could not ask for anything more and she swears that nothing in her life can be exchanged for anything better.

"Munchkin, come here." Tawag niya kay Ethan para lumapit ito at mabihisan niya ng costume nito para sa play na gagawin sa school nito.

"Mommy, it's hot. I don't want to wear it yet. Pleaseeee?" Para itong baby kung magpa-cute pa sa kanya. Although he still is the only baby in the house.

"Okay but we have to go to your school soon. We are just waiting for daddy to finish changing his clothes. You'll wear this when he goes down, alright?" She smiled and ruffled her hair.

"Yes Mommy." Ngumiti ito bago muling umupo sa may window seat sa sala. Andoon kasi ang mga books nito at ibang laruan.

They have agreed na maging technology free ang childhood ni Ethan, save the television na reward pa nito kapag natapos na nito ang ilang schoolworks nito. Ethan barely notices na ang mga classmates niya ay humaling na humaling sa tablets or phones kasi he enjoys playing alot. He is quite an active kid and is very intelligent for his age.

"Mommy, are we going to visit Mama again this week?" Tanong sa kanya ni Ethan.

"Well, no. Next week pa sana but do you wanna go there later? Do you have new stories you wanna share with her?" She asked. Nakagawian na din kasi nila na magkwento ng progress ni Ethan in life and when Ethan figured out na yun ang dahilan ng pagpunta nila doon ay he insisted on telling his own stories. Mati wants Ethan to love Giselle as his real mother it is only but fair dahil sa laki ng regalo na dinala nito sa buhay niya.

"Yes Mommy, I will tell Mama that I got a star yesterday. I hope she hears me though." He sighed as if disappointed that he'll be talking to a tombstone.

"She does. She with Papa God diba?" She smiled and ruffled his hair.

"Eh when do we get to see Ninong Carson and Alliyah?" Tanong naman nito.

Ang tinutukoy nito ay ang anak ni Carson na two years old. Lahat sila nagulat noong biglang ipakilala ni Carson si Airi sa kanila, the would be mother of his kids. Si Mati pa nga ang unang rumesponde noong muntik na itong makunan. Funny how she knew at that instance na magiging malaking parte ito ng buhay ni Carson at hindi lang bilang nanay ng anak nito.

"Baka bukas kasi busy si Daddy mo today after your play eh." She smiled.

"Okay Mommy," he smiled and went about with his business again.

"Let's go?" Rinig niyang sabi ni Gray habang pababa ito ng hagdanan.

"Ethan! Time to wear your costume." At mabilis naman na lumapit si Ethan at nagpaubaya sa pagbibihis niya dito. He's such a darling kid kaya wala namang problema sa kanila.

"Ang gwapo talaga ng baby namin, manang-mana ka kay Daddy na gwapo din. Di ba Mommy?" Sabay baling ni Gray sa kanya.

"Hay nako, oo naman. Gusto mo talagang ulit-ulitin ko sayo yan everyday?"

"Nope, mas gusto ko yung 'I love you' everyday ang naririnig ko. It outweighs all compliments." He smiled and planted a kiss on her cheek.

"Ewwww!" Natawa naman sila sa biglang pagtakip ng bata ng mga mata nito.
