Chapter 3 Fairies & Mermaids

Pansy's POV

I sat up quickly. Only a nightmare I sigh. I rub my eyes as I see a glowing light and a black figure. "Skylar?" I whisper. The figure turns and brings the light up to my face. "Lumos." I say and my wand lights up reveling Skylar smiling. "I'm sorry if I woke you. I can't sleep." She said. "It's alright, I woke up from a nightmare." I say. She stood up from the floor and sat on the edge of my bed. "Here I'll show you a trick that'll help you with those nightmares." Skylar said. I nodded. "Open your palm," she instructed and I did so. "With the other one put it on top of your other palm, then as you lift your palm chant these words." She said. I put both of my palms together. She did so too. "Light.Dark.Love.Hate.Life.Death. Fairies reprence." She chanted as she lifted her palm. A small fairy made of magical particles appeared. She lifted the fairy to my head and the fairy sprinkled Magic onto my hair. Then she vanished. "There you go, now you'll have a better sleep." Skylar said and smiled. "Thank you. Skylar why couldn't you sleep." I ask. "For the first time in 8 years, I'm afraid." She admitted. She got off my bed and headed to the window. She sat there and started outside. "I've never felt this type of emotion. And it's because I met you all." She said. "That's because your afraid of something bad happening to us." I said, understanding the situation. "Well I need to know what's going on. I'll be going to the lake, to speak with the mermaids." Skylar said as she put on a jacket, still barefoot, she headed to the door. "Wait, I'm coming too." I said as I grabbed my jacket. I was about to put on shoes when she spoke softly. "They don't like it when we wear shoes. Just come barefoot." She said. I sigh and nod. We then headed to the enchanted lake.

"Lumos," Skylar said "Light the lake." She placed her palm on the water, and the lake lit up. A couple of figures swam up. They popped their heads up and smiled at Skylar. "Baby! We've missed you!" A mermaid said. "I've missed you all too." Skylar said. "This is Pansy my friend," she added. I smiled and waved. "She's so pretty!" The other one said making me blush. "So what's going on." The third one asked. "I'm feeling fear," Sky said softly. "Come here baby," the first one said. Sky walked into the lake and the mermaid placed her palm onto her forehead. Sky closed her eyes, and the mermaid smiled. "Fear of loneliness. Fear of rejection. Fear of loosing your friends. It's alright baby, it'll soon pass." The mermaid said. "Thank you." Sky said. "No problem. Pansy whenever you need something just speak with us, any friend of Sky's is a friend of ours." They smiled. I nodded and we headed back to our room.

I checked the clock, 9:38pm. Still dark, I sleepily sigh and sit on my bed. "You can sleep if you'd like, I'll be up for a bit longer." Sky said. "Alright, goodnight Sky." I said. "Goodnight Pansy." She said as I drifted off to sleep.

Skylar's POV

I walked out of the dorm, closing the door quietly. I walked and sat down by a nearby window. I pulled out the shell charm bracelet that Lolita gave me. It sparkles in the moonlight. "Fear of Rejection," rang through my head. What did she mean by rejection. Tomorrow's Saturday, no classes. I've decided to go to the muggle world to get somethings.

Creek! I turned around to see the one and only, Draco. "Hello." I said quietly. "What are you doing up?" He asked. "Couldn't sleep." I replied. I shoved the bracelet back into my pocket as he walked towards me. "Same." He replied. "So what do we do?" I ask. "Nothing. Just stare at the sky and wait till you feel like sleeping." Draco said. "Boring. I'm going to explore the castle" I said and stood up. I walked down the halls leaving Draco behind. I passed paintings and teachers. I hummed a small soft tune. Soon I was standing outside once again, with the dragons.

Draco's POV

She skipped down the halls and I stood there letting her disappear. Soon I walked myself to the astronomy tower. I looked down and around to see Sky sitting down with the dragons. Well I thought she was sitting. I used a summoning spell and summoned my broom. I got on it and flew down. She was on the floor sleeping. The dragons were protecting her. As I walked towards her they didn't hiss, it seemed like they wanted me to take her. I picked her with and walked to the castle.

Pansy opened her door and I laid her down on her bed. "She passed out by the dragons," I said. Pansy sleepily nodded. I turned to leave when she spoke. "You actually care about her Draco." Pansy said and closed the door.

I sat in the dining hall, with Vincent, and Gregory. Pansy was running late. It's been a few weeks since Skylar's arrival and she's been helpful. "I'm sorry I'm late!" Pansy said with Skylar running after her. "Sky's decided to join us for breakfast." Pansy said. Sky took the empty seat next to Pansy on the other side of the table. "Hello," Sky said. We began eating and chatting, until Dumbledore stood up in front of everyone. "Students, we'll be participating in the Dragon Games!" He said. Everyone cheered, except for Skylar. "Our team captain has already bee chosen. It shall be........Skylar Smith!" The room bursted into cheers. Sky forced a smiled, that's the first time I've seen her do that. She stood up and bowed, then she sat down.

After classes ended Skylar vanished. I walked to her dorm, but Pansy said she wasn't there. I was confused, so I went to Hagrid.

"Well she should be in love with Harry!" I heard Weasley's voice. "She's gone." I said as I walked in. "Hagrid where is she, she disappeared." I said. Hagrid looked shocked then sighed. "She's probably upset about the games. Her parents were killed in the last games, when she was 6." Hagrid explained. I understand. "Well where would she be?" I ask. "Uh, mermaids, fairies, dragons. The enchanted lake!" Hagrid shouted. I nodded and headed there.

I found her sitting on a large stone playing with Scorpius. Things have changed when she arrived, and things have been changing while she's here.
