Dean's POV

It's about noon, and we have been driving for about 20 minutes when I pull over on to the side of the road.

"Is this where they are?" Jess was asking about the vampires.

"No. This is where you will learn a little bit about how to use the weapons. I'm not just gonna let a bunch of non-hunters to go into a hunt without ever touching a machete." I said as I turned the car off. "C'mon.". Then I got out of the car and they followed. I placed my hand on the trunk as Will, Ed and Jess gathered around. "Okay." I unlocked it, and looked at their faces as I opened the trunk. All of their eyes widened, just as I thought. I laughed.

"Woah." Ed said, then he went to reach for one of our shotguns. I swatted his hand away.

"That's not what we'll be using." I grabbed a machete. "This is." I handed him one. "To kill a vamp you have to cut it's head off."

"You're kidding, right?" Ed laughed.

"This is serious. If you go in there thinking that this is a joke, you will get hurt. Or maybe even worse." Sam replied. He looked at all three of this when he said this.

"Okay. Sorry." Ed apologized.

"Well now you know how to kill one, but lets see if you can do it. Go take a swing at that tree." I said as I pointed at the tree across from us. Ed went over and took a swing. It was pretty good for it being his first time. Will went next, then Jess. All three of them did well, even Jess. She surprised me. Even though it was my idea to bring them, I still felt nervous. I don't regret bringing them along, but I'm definitely going to be more focused on their safety, than mine. "Okay great. Everyone back in the car." Jess handed the machete back to me, then got in the back with her brothers.

"Dean." Sam said as I put the machete in the trunk. "I don't have a god feeling about this."

I shut the trunk and said, "I didn't think you would, but this is one of the easier ways to have her learn how to protect herself. Plus, I knew her brothers definitely wouldn't let her go with us alone, so I had to bring them too."

"I know but-"

"But nothing, Sam. What's done is done." Then I walked to the driver's side door, and got in. He got in the passenger seat, then we drove some more.

Jess' POV

We drove for about another 30 minutes and then Dean pulled the car over.

"We walk the rest of the way." Dean said as he got out of his seat. The rest of us followed, then he continued speaking. "There should be a barn about two miles in, and that's where they'll be. Now, it's day time so they should be sleeping, but they might still have one that awake on watch. They aren't heavy sleepers either, so stay quiet." He went to the trunk and started handing out machetes like they were candy. I didn't know whether or not to be mesmerized or afraid, by the amount of weapons they had. "Let's go." Dean said then he started walking into the woods. The sun has started to set, making the shadows the trees cast much larger. Dean led us through the woods, I was behind him, then it was Ed, then Will, and at the very back was Sam. When we reached the edge of the tree line, Dean stopped and faced us. "There's the barn. I'll search the are to make sure that it's all clear then when I get back, we'll sort things out." Then he left. He moved out into the open area with caution, and walked around the right side of the barn. It was about ten minutes before he came back out on the other side.

"What did you see?" I was anxious to know.

"There's a ladder and an open window on the other side of the barn. I'm pretty sure we'll be able to get in, that way." He replied then turned to go back out of the trees.

"Wait. What will we see when we get in there?" Ed asked, pushing his way past me to get closer to Dean.

"There are a number of things we could see, but right now we just have to get in there. Let's go." Then we all followed him to the other side of the barn. When we got there, he waved over Sam to help him with setting up the ladder then he went up. He stopped at the top and looked around inside, then he went in. He stuck his head out the window and waved me up. As I was just about to put my foot on the first step, Ed pushed me aside and started to climb. The look on Dean's face changed from focused to frustrated. Ever since Ed got here, they have been at each other's throats, I just hope that they can overcome their differences.

Ed climbed in the window, then I went up.  Will followed, and then Sam. After we were all in, the platform we were on ended a bit to the side, and when I looked over I could see people sleeping on hammocks. There was about ten of them. I looked to the left and there was a girls chained to a post covered in blood. I looked back at Dean and pointed at the girl. His eyes moved from me to her, then back to me and he shook his head.

"But Dean, she's-" I started to whisper.

"No." He whispered back. This made me mad. How could he just leave her there? I looked at him, then at the girl, then back at him. He shook his head again. Ed and Will were crouching in between Dean and I, so I crawled to the other side of the platform we were all on, to a ladder. I turned around and put my foot on the first step. "Jess." Dean whispered angrily. I looked up at him, and he looked really mad. I looked back at the girl, and lowered my other foot to the next step down. "Stop." He whispered again. This got the attention of Will and Ed, and now they were waving me to come back up. I knew that disobeying them would be wrong, but leaving that girl there would be too. If I go down now will I be able to save her life, or she already dead? Will I just be putting myself in more danger, or will I actually be able to help her?
