I was about half way home when all of a sudden, Cas appeared in the passengers seat.
"Holy shit!" I screamed as I nearly swerved off the road. I regained control of the car, then he spoke. The street lamps lit up his face everytime we passed one.
"You can't go home. You'll be putting your parents in danger."
"You don't know that for sure." I refused to believe that what they don't know won't kill them, because I didn't know about Crowley and he almost put a bullet in my head.
"Sam and Dean are just trying to protect you."
"I never said they had to." Cas didn't say anything after that. I looked over to the passenger seat and he was gone. I drove the rest of the way there in silence.
I pulled in the driveway but something was wrong. The driver's door on my dad's truck was wide open, but there was nobody there. He would never leave it open. I walked over to it, to see what was going on. As I got closer, I saw something catch the light. I touched it, and my heart stopped when I saw the red on my fingers. Blood.
"Jess!" Dean yelled as he got out of a car I had never seen before. They probably stole it. Sam got out of the passenger seat after him.
"Stop." They walked over slowly, almost as if I was their dog that had ran away, and they didn't want to scare me off. I wasn't planning on running after what I saw. When they got over to me, I showed them my hand. I looked into their eyes and they knew. They knew my parents were dead. My eyes started to fill with tears, as Dean ran to the front door. Sam just stood infront of me, wayching Dean. I hugged him, I pressed my face into his chest and cried. I felt his arms wrap around me as I heard the sound of Dean kicking the door open.
Sam's POV
I could feel her tears soak through my shirt. I watched as Dean entered the house. I stood there with her in my arms for about five minutes and then Dean came back out the door. He shook his head. Her parents were dead.
"I'm sorry." I kissed the top of her head. This made her cry even harder.
"No!" She screamed into my chest.
"C'mon." I started to turn and walk back to the car, she turned as well, but kept holding on to me. We walked together as one, on our way to the impala. I got in the back with her, and kept my arm over her shoulders. I watched as Dean wiped down the car that we stole's door handles and steering wheel. The key was still in the ignition, so when he got in, he just turned them and then we drove back home.
Jess' face was lying on my chest as we drove. The car was silent, other than when she would cough, sniffle, or whimper. Dean and I would make eye contact through the rearview mirror. I could tell he wanted to give her the "I told you so" speech, but he knew it wasn't the time. I reminded him through eye contact and a shake of my head that it wasn't the time either.
A couple minutes before we got back, she had stopped crying. She sat up and looked out the window. I went to move my arm, so she could move closer to the window. Just as I started to pull it away she put her hand on mine. She wanted me to keep it there, so I did. When we pulled up to my place, she immediately got out and walked inside. I went to follow her, but Dean had something to say.
"Sam." He called me back over to him, since I had already started walking towards the door. When I made my way back to him, I could tell he was going to tell me somethinge he didn't want Jess to hear.
"What?" I asked.
"I know what killed her parents."
"Demons?"
"No. Angels."
"How do you know?"
"Their eyes. They had been burnt out of their heads."
"Why would angels want her parents dead?"
"I don't know. But Cas might." He started to walk over to the house.
"Dean."
"What?"
"Do you think that Cas could have-"
"No, Sam."
"But Dean, he kept saying, over and over again how if she went home that it would put them in danger. Then he left without saying where he was going, and we haven't seen him since." I didn't like accusing Cas, but there were a lot of things that led me to believe that he could have actually done it.
"Cas wouldn't kill her parents just to make a point, Sam." Then he turned and continued his walk to the front door, and I followed behind him.
Dean's POV
I walked in, to see Cas sitting at the table. He looked over at me and said,
"She's in Sam's room." He pointed at the closed door to Sam's room as he said this. I went over and lightly knocked on the door.
"Jess." She didn't answer me. "I'm gonna come in, okay?" I waited a few seconds, then I opened the door. She was on the bed, and had covered herself in the blankets. I shut the door behind me, then sat on the bed next to her, leaning my back against the headboard. I didn't know what to say, I just sat there looking down at some of her hair that wasn't covered by the blanket. "I'm sorry. I never wanted any of this for you. I didn't want you to know about this life, for your own safety. But I guess you would have found out eventually. What happened tonight, is what I was trying to protect you from. So, I'm sorry. Its my fault your parents are dead, and there's no way that I could ever ask you to forgive me for that." She didn't say anything. She probably just wanted to be alone, and I came in here and ruined it. "I'll just go." I started to move but she mumbled something and i didn't hear her. "What?"
"Don't go." She pulled the blanket off her face and rolled over, to face me. Instead of sitting, I lied down, facing her. She had the blanket covering just above her nose. Her eyes were red from crying, it made her eyes look more blue. She closed her eyes in an attempt to sleep, and rolled over to face away from me. "It's not your fault." Her words were muffled from the blanket. Although, even if she does really mean this, I still feel responsible.
