Dean's POV
"Jess!" We all took turn yelling as we walked through the sewers. The shifter is dead but Jess is gone. How did this go so wrong? I thought we were better prepared, but I guess I was wrong. Will and Ed are mad, Sam is worried, and I can't help but think this is my fault.
"I thought we killed the shifter." Will said, as we walked down a tunnel.
"We did." I replied.
"Then who took her?"
"Then there must have been two of them."
"Do shifters usually go around in pairs?"
"Not that we know of."
"Okay but-"
"Dammit!" I push him against the wall. "Stop fucking asking me questions. I know she is your sister, but we care about her too, and we are trying to find her. Now shut up and keep walking." I let go of him and continue down the tunnel. We kept calling her, and then we would listen and see if she called back, but we got nothing. After about 25 minutes we finally heard something.
"Wait guys, hold on. I think I heard something." Ed said, making us all stop and listen. "Jess!" A few seconds later we heard her.
"Ed!" She didn't sound far.
"Ya Jess it's me! Follow light and my voice, okay!" He called out again.
"Okay. I see your light." Her footsteps got louder as she got closer. Then she finally walked in to the light where we could see her.
"Oh my God, Jess." Will said as he walked up and gave her a hug. Ed joined them.
"Come on lets get out of here." I said, as I turned to go back the same way we came from. While we walked back through the tunnels, Ed and Will kept asking her what happened. She explained that while we were fighting off the first shifter, a second one came from behind and grabbed her. That he dragged her off to a different section of the sewers where they had been camping out. She said that when they got there, there were lanterns, allowing her to see what she was doing when she stabbed it in the heart and killed it. Then she went back through the tunnels to find us.
As much as that story is believable I knew that the right thing was to test her, to make sure that she was really herself. I stopped and turned to face her. "Give me your arm." She looked offended that I would even ask her that.
"Um, no. Do you not believe me?" She defended.
"I do, but I need to check you just to be 100% sure. And if you really are Jess, then you wouldn't have anything to worry about."
"I'm not worried, because I really am me. I'm just mad that you would even consider the fact that I might not have been able to fight him off."
"I never said that. Now, would you just give me your arm?" I reach for her again, but she steps away. "Jess, give me your arm."
"No." She moves one of her hands behind her back, then the other one. She takes a few steps back, then smiles.
"That's not Jess! Everybody back up!" I yell, then a pin clicks and Jess throws a gas grenade at us. The gas filled the air and my vision went blurry. We all fell to the ground as Jess backed away, holding a cloth over her mouth and nose, then I went unconscious.
Jess' POV
I was still struggling with the rope around my hands as the shifter acting as me dragged Ed into the room.
"Oh my God, Ed." I watched as she dragged him over to the pole across the room from me, sat him up against it and tied his hands behind his back around it.
