During the past week they have gone on 4 hunts. Jess has gotten better, and wants to go out on hunts by herself. Sam and Dean do not agree with her proposal.
"You are definitely not going on a hunt by yourself." Dean says as he takes a sip of his beer. Jess sits in the chair across from him; he and Sam are sitting on the couch.
"Why not? You guys go on hunts alone, and you even said I was getting better."
"Getting better doesnt mean you're ready." Sam adds.
"Oh my god!" Jess stands up and starts to walk towards the bedroom. "You guys treat me like I'm fragile. Well guess what. I'm not." She walks in the room and slams the door.
"She's got a point ya know." Sam says.
"What do you mean?" Dean asks.
"We treat her like she is fragile. I agree we need to loosen up a bit but she isn't ready to hunt alone."
"The second we stop protecting her, she will get hurt."
"I didn't say we had to stop protecting her. I said we should just loosen up a bit. Go on hunts together but give her, her own sector or job within the job, to do." Sam explains. Dean takes a sip of his beer before answering.
"Fine. But nothing too major." Dean takes the final sip of his beer and goes to the fridge for another. About an hour later Sam moves to the chair to read and ends up falling asleep. Dean fell asleep on the couch around the same time. Shortly after they fell asleep, they began to snore. Jess had gone in the room but didn't fall asleep. She waited until she new they were asleep to sneak out of the house to go do a job. She slowly opened fhe door and tiptoed by them. She felt bad about what she was doing but knew she had to do it to prove to them that she wasn't as fragile as they made her out to be.
It's next morning and Jess gets off the bus at the stop across the street from their house. She checks the time on her phone "it's three in the morning. They shouldn't be awake by now." She feels confident about her assumption, and slowly opens the door in hopes of being as quiet as possible. All the lights were still off which was a good sign. She turns to shut and lock the door. Just as she turns the lock, aight turns on. She knew she was just caught.
"Where were you?" Dean's voice fills the room. She turns around to see them both standing with their arms crossed by the couch.
"I went and did a job by myself." Jess stood her ground.
"You could have been killed." Dean's voice gets louder and more intense as he says this.
"What was it of?" Sam seemed more interested in the case seeing as Jess had survived.
"Just a couple of vamps hanging out by some barn." Jess says it like its nothing while she thinks of how she almost did die cause one of them almost got her; but she wasn't going to let Dean win that argument. Dean's eyes widen as the light makes the blood on her shirt shine. He runs over and grabs her arm.
"You're hurt. They got you didn't they!?" Dean starts to panic as he rolls up Jess' bloody sleeve.
"Relax Dean. It's not my blood." She says as she pushes his hands away. "And as you can see I easily handled this case by myself, which means I am perfectly capable of going on hunts alone." Jess says as she puts her bag on the counter.
"Okay but you still shouldn't have gone out without telling us. If something had of happened to you, we wouldn't have known where you were." Sam explains.
"I know, I know. I did feel kinda bad about that. But I did what needed to be done, and I survived. Now if you would excuse me, I'm gonna take a shower." She says as she exits the room.
