Author POV
Jungkook's eyes froze at that specific spot. After a few moments he began to feel dizzy since he stopped breathing. His body seemed to awake with every step he took into the direction of his destination. A little closer and closer with each steps.
His eyes widened in shock as he started running.
This can't be true.
Finally he arrived at the street lamp which was illuminating a heartbreaking view. In the weak light of the lamp Cloe's unconscious body was lying motionless.
Hesitatedly Jungkook kneeled down next to the girl, not knowing what to do as he still regained his mind.
His shaking hands reached for her face, tracing softly over her cheeks which were starting to lose warmth. However he didn't miss the wetness around her eyes and all over her face.
He let his head down, ear next to her lips to check if she was breathing.
don't be dead, don't be dead, don't be dead.
A massive wave of relief hit his system as he registered a faint puff of air against his skin.
"Cloe?"
Jungkook carefully shook the girl's body but without success. He repeated her name all over again, shaking different body parts but nothing seemed to help.
Slightly panicking the brown haired male pulled out his phone. At this point the park seemed to be completely abandoned with no one in reach to ask for help and the fact that Cloe was constantly losing warmth right in Jungkook's arms worsened Jungkook's panic.
Eventually he managed to dial Namjoon's number but was soon disappointed as the mailbox greeted him instead of his friend.
Are you fucking kidding me.
He let his gaze wander around the empty park once again before returning to his phone. He started calling one of his friends after another but after nobody picked up he figured that they were probably still occupied with Yoongi.
The male was already worried and now the girl on the ground began to turn pale. Without further thinking Jungkook decided to take her home.
With hesitation he wrapped his arms around her cold form, lifting her off the cooling ground and getting a tight grip around her body.
Due to Jungkook's fit form he managed to get to Cloe's house in a few, stopping in front of the main door. Noticing the little bench on the porch he placed the still unconscious girl onto the wood. He sighed and let his hands glide through his hair as he faced a new problem.
How do I get in?
Jungkook has seen enough movies and played various video games to search around the porch. Under the doormat, between some plants, behind the mailbox, the luck wasn't on his side.
Desperate he turned towards the motionless girl, she seemed to look even worse than before. Jungkook's worried eyes examined her weak body when they stopped at something outstanding at the girl bottom.
No way.
Jungkook face palmed himself internally, wondering about how he couldn't figure that the girl must have carried a key with her.
However the male still hesitated since the key-like looking object was located at a spot where Jungkook was sure the girl would slap him if he touched her there with her being conscious.
Eventually the pale cheeks and the burning forehead of Cloe made Jungkook outstretch his hand, reaching into the bottom pocket of the girl's jeans.
The brown haired male almost ended up facepalming when he figured that the assumed key was just a nail file. Under a few curses he hurriedly checked the rest of the girl's pockets until his finger finally curled around something metallic.
As he fished the keys out and opened the front door, he didn't waste anytime to pick the girl up once again and hurried into the saving warmth of the house.
Seeing only a kitchen and a living room on the first floor, he assumed Cloe's room to be upstairs. He took his first steps onto the wooden stairs but unfortunately he hadn't quite much experience with handling girls, resulting in him accidentally hitting the girl's head against the handrail.
Hurrying up, he found Cloe's room and placed her onto the bed. He engulfed her hands only to be greeted with the familiar but now even colder sensation of her skin.
Quickly he gathered all blankets he could find and wrapped Cloe's unconscious form up into a warm and fluffy cocoon.
He seated himself at the end of the bed, just staring at her blankly for a few minutes.
"Cloe? Can you hear me?"
Jungkook got closer to her, hoping for any kind of reaction.
"Please."
He wiped the cold tears off her face with his hands.
His thoughts trailed off to why the girl collapsed all of sudden even after she'd said to Jungkook she was fine two minutes before. However he supposed that the events of the day were too much and crashed down onto the normally unbothered girl.
How miserable did she feel?
Jungkook decided to stay in case Cloe would wake up all of sudden and panic about what had happened or if her state worsened.
The male turned around, starting to scan his surroundings. Only now he noticed how the whole room was tinted in a dark shade of pink. He noticed the little rose shaped lamps above the bed he must have turned on when he carelessly slammed a light switch on.
In the light of the lamps Jungkook noticed walls covered in many photos.
Caught in the moment, he let his eyes wander around the hundred of pictures. He recognized Cloe herself and Ley in many pictures until his gaze crossed photos with faces on them that were way too familiar.
A small smile crept on Jungkook's lips as he admired the memories of previous encounters glued to the wall.
Hoseok's dance contest
Taehyung's first saxophone lesson.
Jin's last birthday
Never ever had Jungkook excepted that their group of friends was this valuable and important to Cloe. Nor has he excepted to find himself on the girl's walls but he did. The fewest photos had Jungkook in them and they were usually group photos but still this was enough to make the male feel somehow.. appreciated?
However the smile on his lips faded away when his eyes landed on a picture with only Cloe and Yoongi. After scanning the walls more precisely, Jungkook noticed that the majority of photos were filled with the blond male.
This realization made Jungkook's heart ache. It wasn't jealousy nor distrust. It was simply sympathy that was making Jungkook feel pain.
We fucked up big time.
The brown haired male released a heavy sigh as he felt the weight of his failure sinking down onto him.
He was telling himself that he couldn't change the past, he couldn't change Yoongi's decisions and behavior either as he took a look at Cloe.
She seemed more relax, color was slowly returning to her cheeks and from the displaced layers of blankets he could tell that she started to move.
He sighed once again, this time out f relief, before his eyes noticed a guitar standing in one of the room's corners.
Without a second though, he reached for it, picking it off the ground. He was surprised to find an instrument in the girl's room but at the same time he was aware that he barely knew anything about the said girl. Even more surprised him the fact that the guitar was full of dust.
He wiped the layers of dust off, fingers gripping the wooden object tightly. The feeling of the strings against his fingertips alone was enough to relax him.
After some struggling with the size, first innocent tones filled the atmosphere and lightened up the dimmed room.
"Such young love but-"
