Christine ran into the house and began picking things up. Erik, meanwhile, ran to make sure that everything in his music room was fine. But upon arrival he realized that the room was a mess. Sheet music was everywhere, his piano was tipped on it's side, the strings on his violin were broken, but his Don Juan looked untouched.
Many emotions went through Erik at that moment. His hands balled into fists and he was about to punch something when he felt soft hands on his back. He dropped his fists and let the tears fall. Erik turned around to see that Christine also had tears in her eyes. They wrapped their arms around each other and held the other close. They were the best kind of comfort for each other.
"Our wedding picture is ripped, Erik! It's ruined, my favorite memory." Christine screamed but her voice trailed off at the end.
"I have another copy in my desk upstairs. I'll just bring it down here." Erik assured her.
Christine scanned the music room and sighed. "Who do you think did this?" James asked from the doorway and Nadir, Erik, and Christine all looked at him.
"Oh, we know who it was. Only Raoul would do this." Christine said.
"Obviously," Erik muttered. Nadir nodded in agreement with both of them. Erik kneeled on the floor and looked at the ripped pieces of sheey music. His music was ruined because of some no good fop.
Nadir and James quietly dismissed themselves to give the couple some alone time. Christine walked out of the room to clean up other areas of the house. Once she finished straightening up the house, she went to find her husband.
Erik was sitting in the music room crying. Christine walked over to him and and sat down beside him. She grabbed his hand and softly stroked it. "I love you, Christine." Erik said sadly and Christine laid her head on his shoulder.
"I love you too, Erik. More than anything in this world." She soothingly rubbed his back as he cried.
"If you left me you wouldn't have to worry about this. You could have such a better life. Just leave me, Christine." Erik cried sadly. What he had said was true. Christine could leave now and she wouldn't have to worry about her home getting trashed, a depressed husband who had a deformity and was a wanted criminal. But all she wanted was Erik. He made her happy.
"Erik, I'm not leaving." Christine said bravely. Erik sighed and looked around at the music room yet again.
"I wish people didn't hate me." Erik thought aloud. He slowly picked up the original copy of Don Juan and looked at it.
"At least that didn't get ruined." Christine said, obviously trying to make him feel better. Erik looked over at Christine and cracked a small smile.
"You know I love you, right?" Erik asked and Christine giggled and wrapped her arms around him.
"I think I have somewhat of an idea." Christine joked and kissed his cheek. Erik stood up and helped Christine up as well. Erik made a mental note to not let himself fall into depression. It hurt Christine when that happened and he didn't want to cause her pain.
"Erik? Christine?" A voice called and Erik turned around to see Madame Giry standing in the doorway. "Are you two ok?" She asked and Christine nodded.
"I think we'll be fine. Thank you, Madame." Christine assured her with a smile. "Could you fetch Nadir and James? I have something I want to share." Christine asked and Erik looked thoroughly confused.
Madame Giry nodded and walked away to go get them. Once she was gone, Erik turned to Christine. "What do you have to tell them?" Erik asked anxiously.
"You will find out soon enough, my love." Christine smiled and brought her lips to his. Erik kissed back and wrapped his arms around her. They reluctantly broke apart, however, when they heard Nadir loudly clear his throat.
"Blasted Persian." Erik muttered as he glared at Nadir. The group walked into the dining room and Christine stood at the head of the table to make whatever announcement she had.
Christine sighed with a smile and looked over at her husband. "I'm pregnant!" She said happily. Everyone started clapping, except Erik. He quickly stood up and walked angrily out of the room. Christine sighed and placed a hand on her stomach. She was worried about him reacting this way.
Madame Giry walked over to Christine and embraced her. "He'll come around eventually." Madame Giry assured the worried Christine.
Everyone congratulated Christine before leaving, but James stayed behind. "I should go talk to him." Christine stood up and walked down the hall to their bedroom. She opened the door to see Erik sitting on the bed.
"I won't be a good father."
"You'll be a wonderful father." Christine whispered as she sat down beside him. Erik stood up and ripped his mask off.
"What if it looks like me, Christine. Then what? Will you hate me? Will you leave me?" Erik yelled pointing to his deformity. Christine walked over to Erik and placed his hands on her flat stomach. Tears slipped down Erik's cheeks as his hands rested on her abdomen.
"Then we'll love it just the same." Christine whispered and Erik fell to his knees in front of her. He placed his head on her stomach and her hands tangled in his hair.
"I'm so sorry." Erik whispered through the tears. Christine looked down at her husband and cried with him.
"I love you, Erik." Christine whispered and Erik looked up at her.
"I love you too."
