A week had passed since Christine had announced the news. Christine had started going to doctors appointments to make sure that everything stayed fine.

Erik walked into the living room with his father and sat down. "How do I be a good father?"Erik asked and James laughed.

"I think you're talking to the wrong person." He said and Erik knew he was right. "But if you really need advice then just be yourself. Your child will love you." James told him and Erik smiled as Christine came in to the room.

"Erik, don't we have to be upstairs?" Christine asked, grabbing both of their cloaks. Erik stood from the couch and took his cloak from Christine.

"James, would you like to come upstairs with us?" Christine asked politely and James nodded. They all walked upstairs to the stage. James sat in the first row of seats while Erik and Christine walked to the front of the stage.

"We're going to start with the ballet. If you are a dancer please stay on the stage with Madame Giry. Everyone else off. Let's go!" Erik announced and people immediately started moving where they were supposed to be.

Erik held out his hand and helped Christine off of the stage. They sat in the first row and watched the ballet. Madame Giry sat beside them as she called out directions.

"Full split in the grand jeté! Point your feet! Five pirouettes, not four!" Madame Giry yelled at the dancers. Madame Giry sighed and turned towards the Destlers. "I'm way too old for this." She sighed heavily. Christine laughed and shook her head.

"Madame, you're only 41." Christine pointed out.

"Exactly!" Madame Girt exclaimed. Christine laughed and placed a hand on her stomach. She was so excited to be a mother. "How far along are you, Christine?"

"About a month." Christine responded with a smile. Erik smiled and placed his hand over Christine's on her stomach.

"You should be showing soon." Madame Giry said and Christine nodded. She knew she would have to get maternity dresses. She would also have to stop wearing corsets, as it wasn't good for the baby.

"Madame Giry, Meg will find out eventually. I need to tell her." Christine said and the elder woman nodded. Just them Meg walked over. Erik's hand automatically left Christine's stomach and it returned to his side.

"Meg, can we talk?" Christine asked and Meg nodddd. She waved to Erik before Christine dragged her away to the hallway.

"What is this about, Chrissy?" Meg asked and Christine sighed.

"I'm married to Erik." Christine hesitantly said and Meg looked sad. Christine held out her hand so that Meg could see the ring.

"How long?" Meg asked quietly with a sad tone evident in her voice.

"Going on three years." Christine said and Meg looked heartbroken. Christine touched her shoulder and Meg let a tear slip down her cheek. Christine wanted to hug her best friend but she didn't think that would be best right now.

"But that's not it, Meg. I'm pregnant with his child." Christine mumbled the last part.

"So that's why his hand was on your stomach." Meg guessed and Christine nodded. Meg let out a laugh and wrapped her arms around Christine for a hug.

"I'm happy for you, Chrissy." Meg smiled genuinely as that walked back into the auditorium. Christine sat back down beside Erik and let her head fall onto his shoulder. It felt nice to be able to lay her head on him in public. It also felt nice that Meg seemed fine with it.

"How'd she take it?" Erik asked and Christine smiled and kissed his cheek. "I'm going to assume that it went well." Erik said and Christine nodded.

Once Madame Gary was done running the ballet, Erik walked onto the stage and began giving orders for the second time that day. "Let's run the ensemble piece, then-" Erik started but was cut off by the double doors swinging open. He turned around to see the last person he expected to see. His mother.

Erik barely recognized her because she had definitely aged, but he knew for sure that was the wretched woman who had always hated him. "Madeline Destler." Erik spoke with a smirk. "I thought you'd be dead by now. Rotting in Hell."

"Oh shut it, Erik." She said and Erik just laughed. He turned around and dismissed the cast, Erik stayed on the stage and watched as Madeline walked down the aisle.

"You're not in charge of me anymore. I am 24 years old, I think I can make decisions by myself." Erik pointed out and Madeline shook her head. "What do you want anyways?" Erik asked as he walked off the stage to stand in front of her.

"How have you been, Erik?" She asked with an evil smile plastered on her face. She suspected that Erik had a horrible life filled with only sorrow. But Erik was ready to prove her wrong.

"Amazing, actually." He said with a smile as Christine walked up slowly and hooked onto his arm.

"Oh, I see you've bought yourself a whore." Madeline said and Erik broke himself from Christine. He grabbed his mother roughly by the shoulders and threw her back.

"Don't talk about my wife that way! You can call me whatever you want, but when you start coming at my family it crosses the line!" Erik yelled and he saw Christine cower at how loud his voice had gotten. Erik softened and wrapped his arms around his wife. "Get out of my opera house." Erik sneered through his teeth. Madeline nodded and walked out but stopped at the door.

"I'll be back, you hideous man. Mark my words."
