Brennan refused to stop driving until she got to Alabama. It took approximately 18 hours and Brennan was exhausted. She stopped at the hotel in Castle (AN Castle is a tiny town that I made up btw i aint got time to do research and shit xD). The hotel was tiny with three rooms.
Brennan walked in and stood infront of the welcome desk. There were pictures and newspaper articles hung up on the wall. There was one picture on counter beside the bell. The picture was of Brennan as a teen and a young boy, about her age.
Brennan rang the bell, trying not to think about the picture.
A man soon walked in. He was tall, very well built. His muscles were noticable, but not to the point that you could see his veins bulging out of his arms. His hair was a light brown and his eyes were emerald green.
He stared at her for a moment. After a minute of silence, the man sighed and asked, "What are you doing back here?"
"Marcus," Brennan sighed and smiled, then began sobbing.
Marc automatically went to her aid and wrapped his arms around her.
"I'm pregnant," Brennan sobbed, "The father has another family and I," Brennan sobbed harder as she said, "Marc, I'm all alone now."
Marc said quietly, "Sshhh, it's okay now."
Brennan soon stopped crying and she looked at him.
"Welcome home, Bones."
Meanwhile, Booth was drunk off his ass. He drove around DC for a while until he arrived at Brennan's old apartment, where he passed out.
Booth woke up cold and alone. He was on the floor of Brennan's apartment. He didn't even close the door to apartment he was so drunk!
He felt sick. He ran into the bathroom and puked. A lot. He looked around the bathroom. Maybe there might be something out if place. Anything that may hint as to where she went.
Booth immediately thought of Russ. He sprinted out the apartment and drove to North Carolina.
When Booth was driving to North Carolina, he couldn't think straight. Who would? The love of his life had vanished because of how much hatred she now has towards him.
The thought that crossed Booth's mind the most was, "I fucked up."
Before he knew it, he was at Russ Brennan's house. He slowly got out of the car and walked towards the house.
He knew that this wouldn't go down the way it does in movies. Booth knew that if he knocked on the door, Brennan would not open it and hug him. She would probably slap him across the face and slam the door.
Booth took every possible outcome into account and knocked on the door.
Soon, Amy, Russ's girlfriend, opened the door.
"Hello, Agent Booth, for what do we owe the pleasure?" she asked.
"Amy, has Bones been here lately?" Booth asked, his voice filled with hope.
Amy shook her head and said, "She hasn't even called these past few weeks."
Back in Alabama, Temperance spent the night with Marc in the bed they once shared so many years ago.
When she woke up, she was in Marc's arms. Brennan smiled. She hadn't felt this secure in years.
"Temperance Brennan-Andrews," Marc said with a smirk, "I like the sound of that."
Brennan giggled as Marc wrapped his arms around Brennan's waist.
"I love you so much, Bones," Marc said with a smile.
"Not as much as I love you, Marc."
Brennan began to cry as she remembered that bittersweet memory. She messed up. She wished she had never divorced Marcus in the first place.
