~**~The whole room goes silent, not a word spoken after the Alpha made his statement. Neither of us expecting this, my brother and I share a look before we look at our supposed sister. She looks like us but vaguely different, another sibling.
"You're lying." My brother challenges.
"I'm not, look at her." The alpha says, containing his anger quiet well. "Your father was quite the busy male, haven't you learned that by now." He laughs.
"Don't speak of my father that way," the young wolf growls.
"Isaac." I hiss, warning him to put his teeth away. Bringing out the juvenile wolf would do nothing. The wolf doesn't know how to control himself yet, angered at everything. The wolf can't help but listen to me, he knows his place.
"You think Lux was the only pup to survive?" TJ says, he's the future of this pack and he sits with his honour. A way my brother has yet to learn. "She was just the unlucky one who had to stay." He hisses in my direction.
He's wrong. Everything in my life has led me up to these moments, to make me stronger and take over what the moon left for me and not my brother.
Isaac is now silent, staring daggers into the young girl's eyes.
"How?" Isaac demands. "My father killed each daughter before it was born. Until I was born, the legacy."
He thinks he's the legacy.
"When your mother couldn't get pregnant, he tried with other women. I was one of the unfortunate ones he seduced." Luna Dariela says, looking down to her hands. "Your mother wouldn't get pregnant so he started sleeping with whatever female was in heat. He took advantage of us."
"How did you get out with Layla?" I ask, curious about my sister that I never knew.
The quiet girl sits there while the table talks about her. She is looking down at her meal, afraid of looking up at the truth of her life, the ugliness of her beginnings. The shamefulness of her true family.
"Your mother fell pregnant with your brother while I was pregnant with Layla. Your father was too busy with his new son to realize the daughter he missed." Luna Dariela explains.
"Your father is a disgusting man, everyone in this pack agrees. Your family is disgraceful to us all." TJ says. "No one in this pack respect you, or your rule." He isn't speaking to me, doesn't care about my presence at all. It's all directed at my brother, the copy of my father.
"You'll do nothing right and the pack will be divided even more." He continues, my brother becoming angrier. "You're not even a true Alpha." And that takes the cake. My brother hops over the table and his skin changes into his fur.
TJ may talk the talk, but he is a lesser wolf than my brother. With time, the blood line of Alpha Triston will become true Alpha blood, but currently, TJ is a beta and not as strong as my brother.
Alpha Triston lets the two wolves fight it out instead of stopping it like my father usually does. It's almost like destiny, in the future the two of them would fight for hierarchy, to be the stronger beta to my alpha.
While the two wolves fight, the Luna ushers me and her two other children into the living room. She tells us to sit down and we chat, this time civilly. I sit quietly while the mother speaks about her hatred for violence.
"Lux dear, you're allowed to speak in this house." She tells me.
"Just not used to speaking out of turn." I tell her.
