Light years,
And we'll see the
Comets falling.
This is the moment
Where it all began.

Spencer reluctantly spent the day with her mother.

"Spencer, you need baby clothes," Veronica insisted.

"Yes, and I'll buy them with Toby," Spencer replied.

"He's going to be working now. He won't have time to do these things with you," Veronica shrugged. "We'll just buy her some clothes for the first few weeks,"

"Her?" Spencer asked.

"We'll it's gonna be a girl," Veronica stated as if it were obvious.

"It's gonna be a boy," I argued.

"Well, how do you know?"

"Mothers intuition," I smirked.

She rolled her eyes. "Come in the house. I forgot my purse,"

Spencer followed her mother into the kitchen of the house she grew up in. While her mother scurried upstairs to find her purse, Spencer wandered about the kitchen.

Spencer had only been inside a few times since she left for college.

Once to tell her mother that she was pregnant. Once when she first moved into the barn. And once when she needed to grab something from there fringe last month.

Spencer was about to open the fringe when her father stumbled in.

"Oh." He said. "Hello, Spencer."

None of the times that Spencer had been in the house had she talked to her father alone. Not once.

"Hi, dad." Spencer replied quietly.

"What are you doing here?" He grumbled.

"Mom's just-um -getting her purse." Spencer answered.

Her dad nodded.

"Look, I know that your disappointed at me-"

"Spencer, don't have to do this." Peter demanded.

"No, I think we do." Spencer stated.

Peter sat on the island stool. "Fine. You know what? I am disappointed. More than disappointed. Happy now?"

"I'm still going to graduate college. I'm just taking a year off," Spencer stated.

"To what?"

"Have a baby," she gestured to her protruding stomach.

"What about next year?" Her father demanded. "When you have a 3 month old and you don't want to miss there first step? What happens when your sitter cancels and you have no one to take care of your newborn?"

Spencer stood there, speechless.

"I'm not disappointed that your pregnant or taking a year off. I'm disappointed that your keeping it."

"After the baby's born your going to decide that your too good for college and find a crappy job that your are too good for. Toby's gonna propose and your gonna get married. After that, your gonna quit your job and start cranking out babies. Toby's gonna have an affair with a young blonde and for the rest of your miserable life your gonna pretend not to notice."

"Spencer!" Veronica said, coming down the stairs. "You ready to go?"
