Years Later

"Come on mom, let's go!" My thirteen year old son, Keegan, exclaimed.

Life was better now; it had been years after I had graduated high-school, and I had ended up becoming a physical therapist.

Legs start from where we left off, shall we?

Okay so first, I obviously graduated and left for college. I had decided to stay in Idaho for college but then transferred out to California where Diana and Sophia were as well as Skye.

Skye's mom had passed away in the senior year, which caused Skye to leave for college instead of staying in Idaho like  she originally planned. Her and Cruz had ended up getting married a few years later and had twins named Grayson and Ethan named after the Dolan twins.

Charles and I on the other hand, had ran back into each-other when we had both finished college. About a few months later, we began to date again and I forgave him from his past mistakes.

After getting married, we had three children of our own.

Keegan, who was our thirteen year old son and had gotten my brown hair and brown eyes, Hayden, who was our eleven year old daughter and had gotten Charles's dirty-blonde hair and his hazel eyes and Carter, who is seven, and also got my brown hair but Charles's hazel eyes.

When I was pregnant with Hayden we decided to move to California where Diana, Lisa, and Jacki were. Sophia had moved to New York and started her own life there after a very serious argument we all had. However, she is still family, and we love her regardless.

"Keegan basketball isn't going anywhere!" I exclaimed. My son had taken his love of basketball after me, since I was a huge fan.

"Mom, it's a very important game and if we don't get there, coach is going to fucking beat my-"

"Don't finish that sentence!" I exclaimed.

And maybe he got his mouth from me too!

This felt like dèja vù again.

(Idk if I spelled that right, so carry on)

"Let's go, get your asses in the car!" I yelled out, as everyone piled into our car and we pulled out of the driveway and left.

"Why do we always have to go to Keegan's games and never my soccer tournaments?" Hayden complained, as Carter rolled his eyes.

Hayden had a huge passion for soccer and was a full tomboy and hated gymnastics and any girly things unlike me. Carter on the other hand, was a quieter kid and didn't like sports that much. He was more of the shyer type and liked to read, unlike most children his age.

"Because, we need to support your brother, Hay's." Charles explained, calling her by her nickname.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever!" Hayden exclaimed as I laughed.

We finally pulled up to the school the game would be held, and Keegan ran inside with his friends. The four of us walked into the gym, where we spotted Diana and Jordan.

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked, giving Diana a hug.

"We came to support our nephew, duh!" Diana exclaimed, as we all walked over to the bleachers. Diana's kids were talking to mine as we watched the game.

Time had passed and it was almost over. Right now, it was in the last few seconds of the game and our team was tied with the other one.

"Go Keegan, shoot the ball and kick their asses! Fuck them up son!" I screamed very loudly as everyone gave me weird looks.

After that, Keegan threw the ball and it almost didn't go in, but it did. Our team cheered, as Keegan's teammates tackled him in hugs.

After that, all of us ran and gave him a hug.

"I did it, we won!" Keegan cheered, as Hayden and Carter gave him hugs. As I looked at them, I saw memories of my family and I fly by and I remembered when my brother and I were little and shared memories like this one.

As all of us talked and laughed and cheered, I realized something.

This is what it meant to be a family.
