A Violet Flame

Episode 20

"Stop!" Rin shouted, chasing after the pair. Sadao was going rabid, destroying walls and the ground in his pursuit of Lucifer who kept dodging, only barely escaping the assault. 

"Look, maybe I shouldn't have said i'm more important than you," Lucifer yelled, moving to the side, "but you did abandon him and kill his caretaker!"

"Shut up! You don't know anything!" Sadao roared.

"I said stop it Satan!" Rin interrupted, managing to come in between the two. 

Rin's eyes were blazing and he had his sword pointed at Sadao. With his blue flames and demonic features exposed, he awaited to stop him with force. To Rin's surpise, Sadao blushed and clasped his hands over his mouth. "Oh my Gosh you look just like me! You're adorable Rin!" 

"Wha?" Rin stuttered, a confused look on his face. 

"But please stay out of my way, I don't wanna hurt my baby," Sadao commented, giving Rin a peck on the cheek and flying past.

"Hey! Only I can kiss him!" Lucifer protested, doing a backflip over Sadao's punch and landing behind him. 

"What the hell?!" Rin shouted, furiously wiping his cheek off in annoyance. 

The next second, a blur filled Rin's vision and Lucifer emitted a shriek before glass exploded everywhere, leaving the hallway a mess of broken walls, and shattered windows. When Rin managed to grasp the current situation, he realized that Sadao and Lucifer were gone to the outside. Quickly exiting the now gaping hole where the window used to be, his attention was directed up where Lucifer was finally fighting back. 

"Rin!" The voice of Yukio shouted and it was then that Rin looked down. His fellow exwires were staring up at the demons battling, watching intensely. Rin merely shook his head before heading upwards to intervene in the fight. 

Right as Rin got closer, Sadao had roughly grabbed Lucifer by the throat and had his hand pulled back. In a split second Rin let out a loud, "Back off!" before slicing Sadao's arm clean off. 

It took a moment for the action to register and Sadao momentarily stared at Rin in surprise. Rin took this opportunity to attack him further and slashed at him, forcing Lucifer away from him.

"Thanks," Lucifer muttered, rubbing his neck. "Yeah, no problem," Rin muttered back. Both locked eyes before launching  at Sadao together. 

"I can't believe Rin is teaming up with a demon!" Bon shouted.

"Are we sure we can trust him? I mean, sure they're fighting Satan right now but who's not to say they don't attack us next?" Izumo muttered. 

"No! Rin isn't like that! I'm sure that demon must be a good one especially since Rin and him are-" Shiemi broke off with a heavy blush as she whispered, "dating."

Yukio made no comment and instead stared up at the fight and watching intensely, his fingers clutching his pistols tightly.
