A Violet Flame

Episode 38

"I hate him," Lucifer grumbled. His dark purple head was buried in his arms as he leaned his back against the bedroom door. Because of his reckless behavior, Mephisto had confined him within his mansion and kept him in a room with a sealed barrier preventing him from leaving. 

Hundreds of Sadao plushies were spread throughout the room, most of them torn open or skewered against the wall in various places. White stuffing laid scattered and the walls had several burn marks and scratches made to them. The furniture was flipped over and utterly ruined to the point that the room looked no different than a wasteland of fury. 

"Until you calm down you're not leaving," Mephisto had said but he acted as if what had happened was just another game. 

There was a knock on the door and Mehpisto's voice spoke through. "Are you done with your tantrum?" 

"It's not a tantrum," Lucifer spat. "He ruined my relationship and is toying with my happiness. I have a right to kill him."

"I didn't say you didn't," Mephesto replied, "But showing yourself to the humans is foolish. You caused needless panic and hysteria when there was no reason to."

"You don't understand!" Lucifer groaned. "I fell in love with Rin and it isn't fair, I love him! And that bastard ruined it. Rin'll never speak to me again! He--" 

Lucifer's voice hitched and he forced his hands to his eyes. "He hates me now! He hates me and it's all his fault, I'll kill him!" 

Lucifer stood, his black wings sprouting from his back as he made a sweeping motion with his hand sending debris and furniture flying out and making them hit the walls. 

Mephisto rolled his eyes. He could hear the destruction from the outside and silently said goodbye to his once clean and elegant guest bedroom. Amaimon was at his side toying with one of Lucifer's gaming systems, his bored and unattentive expression undermined by his words.  "Why don't they just talk it out?" 

Such a simple and effective solution to the problem, Mephisto had to glance to his brother with a look of awe--and slight concern. Never would Mephesto believe the day would come when Amaimon said something useful.

"Hell has officially frozen over," Mephisto said. He gave his green haired brother a pat on the back before he set off to come up with a plan.
