A Violet Flame

Episode 4

Rin glanced at his phone in his pocket, smiling at the text he received before texting back. The door to the classroom opened and he momentarily glanced up before returning back to his phone. 

"Class, we have a new student," The teacher said, "Please introduce yourself."

"Hello everyone! My name is Sadao Maou and I'm happy to be here."

Rin glanced up again and immediately stood up, knocking his chair backwards as he stared open mouthed at the front.

Sadao wore a happy expression as he waved at Rin before walking over and sitting in the empty seat beside him. 

"Is there something wrong Okumura?" The teacher inquired.

"N-no," Rin answered, sitting down in his seat and giving a fierce glare at Sadao. 

"What are you doing here?" He whispered harshly.

"I'm attending class," Sadao responded, smiling wide.

Rin was about to say something else when his phone vibrated in his pocket. He glanced down at the text and texted back.

Settling into his seat, Rin ignored Sadao and all his attempts at making conversation. When the bell rang, signalling class ended, he left immediately, Blending in with the crowd making it nearly impossible for Sadao to follow him.

Once everyone was out of earshot, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

"Hey, are you free later?" he asked.

Rin waited for a response and smiled as  a light blush crept on to his cheeks.
"Cool. You can come over to the dorms at seven, I should be done with my class by then. I'll see you later."

After hanging up the phone, he made his way to class bumping into Shiemi on his way there.

"Hey, Shiemi."

"Hello Rin, you seem to be in a good mood."

"Not really," Rin shrugged, unable to keep the smile off his face.
