"Thanks! I knew I could count on you!" Sadao piped up, instantly standing and flashing a wide smile.
"Father, you shouldn't have done it," Mephesto replied, "He's right, you are a jerk. But more than that, you are heartless."
"What did he do?" Emi questioned.
Although she had planned to fight both Lucifer and Satan, Yukio had pulled her aside and told her to wait. She was confused and looked to Mephesto expectantly.
"I don't know, but I do know it's his fault and Lucifer is right," Mephesto stated with a nod of his head.
"Aww, that's no fair! You can't be biased like that, I'm your father and he isn't even related to you!"
"He may not be, but the previous Lucifer is and he wouldn't have allowed the current Lucifer to take his place if he didn't like his morals. You, on the other hand, is a different case."
Sadao rolled his eyes and Emi couldn't stop herself from wondering which one of them was the true adult at the moment.
"Let's go Father, before you make a bigger mess than you've already done."
"And why do I have to listen to you?" Sadao inquired, his voice laced with sarcasm.
"Because Yukio is with me, and if you don't comply you won't get to learn his deepest, darkest secret from me."
"Deepest secret?" Yukio repeated, a look of confusion etched onto his face.
Sudden interest shot through her, and Emi found herself curious. "Y-yeah! Satan, I've got to escort you to make sure you act right!" She said.
"Okay! What secrets do you have Yukio? Is it something embarrassing?" Sadao asked, his eyes gleaming.
Yukio pushed up his glasses, "I don't have the slightest clue as to what you mean."
A single look was exchanged between Yukio and Mephesto before the teen left. As Yukio walked out, Sadao called after him and began trailing behind with Emi not far from his heels.
Layla sighed. Though the prospect of a deep dark secret was interesting, she felt as though she had done enough interfering for one day and attempted to leave.
"Where do you think you're going?" Mephesto questioned.
Layla gulped and forced a shaky smile to her lips, "I'm going home. All this excitement is a bit much for me..."
"Uh huh, I'm sure it is. You have clean up duty so make sure this building is freshly made with not a stone out of place."
"What?! I'm not the one who did this!" Layla protested.
"You helped father do something terrible didn't you? Consider this your punishment. Or would you rather I tell your father that you've had your eyes on a certain human boy?"
At the mere mention of her father, Layla turned and silently began to pick up the rubble. There was no way she was going to let her father know about that crush of hers. At best, her father would force her home, but at worst her crush would be killed. Layla did as she was told and did her best to clean up the mess.
