Wings

By Anodien

I heard once that when you find who you are supposed to be, you grow wings.

That's what I always wanted most, to be able to fly into the sky, carefree and happy.

But these chains of doubt hold me down, and I can't break free. No matter how hard I struggle, I can't find my wings. I don't have the strength to break my bonds, and so I must fake the courage.

That's another fault that weighs me down, deception. I lie to cover up my heart, and another one again. I want to be honest, but still I am held down.

If I break free, I will shed these burdens and finally be the perfect I know I'll never be.
