What stood before us was a giant scaly green beast. Like us, it had wings and claws and a giant tail with spikes. It looked like a dragon. Yet, 10x bigger than me in my full form. It roared and hit more trees out of the way, then the strangest thing happened.
It morphed into a man.
He jumped into the air and flew high above us. "Leave this forest! You have no right to try to steal what belongs here. I know what you're after, you greedy corporate scum," he spat.
I stared.
"What're you staring at, boy?" he narrowed his eyes.
I couldn't help it. I'd never seen another dragon before. I was taking in all the details. The man was bare chested, with a pair of tattered jeans on. His skin was tawny, no doubt from being out in the heat so much. He was muscled too, as if used to heavy lifting and defending this area. A few scrapes and scars lined his chest and arms. It appeared as though he'd been here for a while. His hair fell unevenly to above his shoulders, and although he didn't have some huge beard, his cheeks and chin had a dusting of dark hair. I figured the man was probably in his early thirties, and had somehow found a way to shave. He had ink black hair that matched his dark eyes. Dark black leathery wings beat behind him, keeping him a float as ours did.
He snarled, revealing pointed fangs "This is your last chance. Get out now, or you will pay with your lives."
Damian didn't need to be told twice apparently, because he flew off as quickly as possible. No doubt signaling John for backup.
Coward, I thought.
I made no move to oppose the other dragon, just continued to stare in shock. A million questions raced through my mind. How long had he been here, where there others? Why hide far off on an island, and how did he know about the crystal?
"Are you deaf, boy? I said leave!" he roared, shooting flame at me.
