Chapter 2: School....Again (kill me now)

I sat in my homeroom, well, technically the main Gym since I had Gym class first. Borgos was there with me luckily, so we both automatically knew we had at least one class together this semester. Mr. Samson, our Gym teacher, handed Borgos and I are our timetables for the year.

"If you boys have any problems with it, go talk to the guidance councilors during your lunch periods, alright?"

"Yeah, sure, thanks." It was the same every year, I mean come on...

Borgos and I quickly compared timetables. We had all our morning classes together and our lunch periods. Nice. We slapped each other high fives and sat down grinning.

The rest of the day went by quickly I guess. Biology seemed alright so far, and I knew I'd gotten good teachers since word travels fast in this school. Borgos' history teacher might give him hell though...apparently she picked favorites. But we'd worry about that later. I waded my way into a sea of people crowded into our overly packed cafeteria and found Borgos.

"Lets go outside bro, too many people."

"'aight."

So we went outside, to the spot that we sat at all last year during lunch. It's a nice spot really, just over the football field on top of a small hill. A few trees covered it and not many kids came up here anyway. We stayed away from them, they stayed away from us. I could deal.

Borgos wolfed down his sandwich like some starved animal before quickly moving onto his 2nd. Needless to say, dragons ate a lot, and lemme tell ya, all the all-you-can-eat-buffets knew it. Borgos and I ate around the same amount too. We both usually had at least 5-6 sandwiches for lunch, a drink, and something like an apple or granola bar on the side.

After the bell rang, I walked to my English class. I realized automatically that this class could be a danger to me; I was quite liable to fall asleep. First, it was right after lunch, second, the teacher sure liked to lecture a lot. Yep, it was going to be a fun semester trying to stay awake during 4th period...

Finally when I thought the bell would never release me from my prison, it rang, and I began my walk down the hallway to my art class. I wasn't the best at art I guess, but I didn't really suck at it either. I had my medium though; I sucked with a paintbrush, but give me a pencil and a few hours and I could probably draw something half decent. The teacher seemed nice too, not one of those over-controlling-I-know-all types. Our first assignment was to sketch an object from three different perspectives. We had a week to do this, and tomorrow we'd learn about different perspectives so we could start our assignment. Eh, three perspectives couldn't be too hard to do...

It was the 3rd day of school, and already I was bored and counting down the days until summer. Nothing was very interesting, except maybe when some kid set fire to another kid's homework in biology class. Borgos, the cheeky devil, managed to get a picture on his cell phone of the kid's face, and man, was it worth a thousand words. Other than the science incident, nothing new really went on around here. Well, there was the usual drama of the zombie crowd who freaked out over stupid things like chipping a nail, and having a bad hair day. Yep, the term 'zombie crowd' fit them well, they shared the same tastes, and had little or no brain power. Borgos and I never bought Abercrombie clothing or Airwalk shoes. I was fine with my combat boots, and my black t-shirts and jeans. A bunch of kids thought that we were emo, but hell, I didn't wanna look like a clone. Plus they were all pretty shallow. Grades were starting to matter now that it was my junior year. But, I wasn't gonna try too hard, however I did want all my grades above 70%. In my senior year I'd worry about maybe all As, and the honor roll. I s'pose I could get on the honor roll now if I wanted, but frankly I just didn't care at the moment.
