The next couple days went on the same way. After a hard college day with exams (it was the end of the year and summer was so close I could already feel its smell) I would go Alex's place or at mine, eat something, play guitar, hear Alex singing (while I was fangirling stupidly), maybe watch some tv, and then go home to learn and get some sleep. It was really nice. And Alex, he was amazing! An amazing neighbor, I mean...
The problem was that suddenly, that little crush turned into something bigger, even huge, until the moment I became obsessed with him (more than I already was). He was always in my dreams, in my mind every single moment of the day. I started to miss him more and more and I got to the point when I'd do anything just to get close to him and feel his delicious scent, ain't talk about the magical moment every night when I had the chance to kiss his soft cheek.
Last exam day. I'd been waiting it for so long! I left the college court jumping around like a school girl until I bumped into someone. Alex!
"Alex, what the hell are you doing here?"
"Oh, I saw it was a beautiful day and I decided to take you out for a walk. If you agree. Anyway, how was the exam?"
We started walking and talking on our way to the park. Everything was so beautiful! The sun was shining, the birds were singing and... It was a beautiful day! There was a man with an ice cream stand and I couldn't turn down Alex's offer to get me some.
I licked all the ice cream and we had a great time. Everything was just so perfect! We were walking next to each other, hugging and cuddling playfully at times and I got that feeling for the first time in years. Maybe it was true, maybe it wasn't, but I was feeling needed by someone. Wanted. I was his friend and he was mine and that was it. Nothing more. Ok, maybe he was a rock star and I was a little college girl, but who cared? He was extremely sexy and perfect and I was just a little almost adult teenager always wearing oversized band T-shirts and looking kinda nerdy at times, but no one cared about it!
We were just having fun, feeling like two kids again, eating ice cream and laughing at stupid little jokes, running after each other. It was like childhood.
"I don't remember being so happy in a long time." Alex claimed.
"Nor do I."
"You know, tomorrow we have a show here in London. Do you want to come?"
"You kidding me? Why are you still asking? Of course! I'll be there! And I'm going to meet the others, right? Oh, it's gonna be amazing!"
"I'm glad you accepted"
Tomorrow. I already felt like something important was going to happen tomorrow, but... Oh, my birthday! 20. I was getting older. Goodbye teenager girl, hello new dangerous adult world!
We got to bad late after watching a movie at mine, "Get him to the geek". Good movie, very funny and somehow real as Alex said.
"Tomorrow I'm having sound checks and rehearsals all day, so I guess we'll meet at the concert."
"I'll be there! Definitely!"
Same little innocent kiss and I wanted to close my door.
"Hey Marie! Thank you so much for today. I don't remember having such a good time in years. You're amazing, darlin'!"
That man could say anything, curse me or give me a death threat, but if he added the word "darlin'" in it, with his perfect Sheffield accent, he would make me love it.
I chuckled, surprised by his words and stunned by his next gesture. He put his arms around me and gave me a huge and warm hug. I could feel his hot breath on my neck and I felt how I started to get weak on my knees.
"Good night, Marie! Sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite! My mother used to tell me this."
"Good night, Alex!"
Damn! I think I love him.
