"This is so beautiful!"
I was dancing in the huge hotel apartment. All of a sudden, a waltz melody started.
"Al, you're always ready for anything... And how did you know about my weakness for Brahms?"
"Well... I guessed... I thought that a beautiful girl like you definitely listens to the most beautiful music "
"A...flat...major?" I tried my luck to guess the key of the melody, avoiding Alex's compliments.
"You're damn right!"
He came next to me and put his arms around my waist.
"Not that fast, Romeo...!"
I made a couple of pirouettes and got close to the huge window. Paris was such a beautiful city... Alex bowed in front of me.
"May I?" he asked.
"Way better..."
I put my hand into his and we started to waltz slowly across the room.
"I didn't know you were such a good dancer!" I admired him after a couple steps.
"Nor did I!"
Uncontrollably, I shed a tear. Alex wiped it off the next second with a kiss.
"Why are you crying, love?"
I had no idea why! Maybe because my life had finally made sense, I had a band, a boyfriend who loved me more than I could've ever asked and I was in the freaking Paris dancing along with him to Brahms.
"The music... Is so beautiful..."
It was just a part of the answer.
"Yes, it is... But definitely not as beautiful as you..."
"You just said..."
He interrupted me with a long kiss and then started placing tender kisses down my neck. I was melting inside at his warm touch and now my whole body was burning uncontrollably.
Suddenly, a knock on the door made Alex raise his head.
"Room service..."
I was sitting on the window sill, contemplating the incontestable beauty of the city. The Eiffel Tour was somewhere in the background and I could see some boats floating on Seine. Oh, how much I wanted to walk barefoot along the quay!
Alex came back with two glasses of champagne.
"For my lady..."
"Merci!"
***
"Mornin' Marie!"
"Mornin' Al..."
12:27 - why was I so sleepy?
"Jet leg? You should get used to it..."
Alex brought me breakfast in bed.
"No, I'm ok, Al... And... Thank you! I wasn't expecting this!"
"Well... I like surprising my little penguin!"
"A penguin and a monkey in Paris... This sounds dangerous!"
***
"I haven't been here for... Four years?" I told Alex while admiring the city from the last level of the Eiffel Tower.
"Then we should come here more often! I promise I'll take care of this!"
"You don't have to..."
We tried to kiss, but people were bumping into us, trying to get enough space to take pictures with the surroundings.
"C'est Alex Turner! Mon Dieu, c'est Alex Turner!!!" a bunch of teenage girls shouted as we were climbing down the stairs as I'd always hated elevators.
More than twenty people around us started to scream and to try to get closer to us. They wanted to take pictures, to get things signed, or just to touch Al. I became really jealous - I was his girlfriend and no one had the right to touch Alex!
Surprisingly, two boys came and asked me if I was Marie from The Equatorial Penguins. Then, they were followed by another three girls who asked for my autograph on some scrap papers. I couldn't turn them down. I was just so happy that people actually recognized me, but at the same time scared of what popularity meant.
I could hardly breathe or see Alex in the crowd. They blocked the stairs and some people started to complain about it. Eventually, the police came and we managed to run away from the fans.
"That was insane!" I shouted after we left the tower area.
"Get used to it! You'll be soon even more famous in Europe than you already are!"
"What do you mean?"
"You silly girl! You just toured America, right?"
"Right!"
"So Americans know about your band... More or less..."
"Yep"
"And now you are touring Europe which means that people will discover your music. We couldn't get your album in stores all over Europe, but in a couple counties, you really got into the tops!"
"Yeah, I know, crazy, right?"
"Well... Not very!"
"Actually I think people already know us. Especially girls. Because, you know, as a fangirl, I can tell you our way of thinking. You like Arctic Monkeys, you like Alex Turner, so you want to know every single moves he makes. So, you discover that he has a girlfriend..."
"A very beautiful one to be more specifically, but go on!"
"Ok... And you discover that she has a band, so you either buy their album - which I don't think you do because you hate her and you want to kill her only because she got close to the person you idolize - either you steal it from the internet. Which is not bad in my opinion..."
"Now I finally got into a fangirl's mind..."
"Don't! It's very messy in there!"
"I'm taking the risk! Tell me more!"
"Oh, no, don't cross the barrier!"
"Please...?"
"Nope!"
He made those adorable puppy eyes at me.
"Still no! And don't do that!"
"Please..."
Damn!
"Ok..."
I started to tell him about my obsession with his band, about how it all started, how I started a blog on tumblr and decided to ruin my life, how I realised there was a word which described my disease - fangirl, then how I went to uni and had to hide that in order that the people around me wouldn't consider me even crazier than they thought I was etc... Surprisingly, I was feeling really well while saying those things to Alex, it was like getting something off my chest. And he seemed to enjoy my stories!
