*Hayden*
The thumping noise starts to become louder and louder to the point I was now aware the noise wasn't in my dream, but it was coming from outside the room. I rub my eyes until they fully open, yawing I grab my phone from my desk. It was only 8:46 AM, who could be making such a racket at this time on a Saturday?
I jump off my bed and walk towards the door, as soon as I open my bedroom door the noise stops. Oh? I shrug and carry on walking to see what it was. The house was completely silent to the point I could hear the sound of my footsteps as it touched the floor.
"What's going on?" I call out, my voice croaky from feeling extremely tired. Me and Leroy didn't sleep until almost half four, he was in my room till late while Carlos and Matty were in the living room playing games all night.
Rubbing my eyes, I walk over to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. The house was silent and I wasn't sure if anyone was awake yet and what that noise was. It sounded like a knocking noise, but it doesn't seem like anyone was here, and I was too tired to check in the front to see if anyone was there.
I grab the glass and turn the tap on, I tap on the sink as I wait for the glass to be full of water. I stop tapping when I realise I could hear quiet footsteps, I turn the tap off to hear properly. The footsteps become louder but I stay faced towards the sink and wait to be sure whether it was footsteps or not.
"Hayden?"
The glass slips out of my hand at the sound of a familiar voice which I could not comprehend why I was hearing it right now. My heart starts to beat with excitement, only for the feeling to be replaced with fear. I freeze, I don't turn around because if I don't see it then maybe this isn't really happening.
"Hayden?"
I turn around slowly, my eyes wide and my mouth in an 'O' shape. "Dad." I say gulping. "What are you doing here?" I ask, walking a little closer to him, a million reasons flying around in my head as to why my dad could be here.
Leroy looks at me with the corner of his eyes, his jaws clenched he stares sternly. I walk over to Leroy, and stand beside him. His fingers were resting on the side of his thighs, he taps rapidly, he was nervous.
"Where is Matty?" Dad says with his tone sharp.
I stutter looking around the house. "I-I-I don't know?" I shrug with my voice high.
"He's still asleep." Leroy answers. "What's going on Mr Specter?" Leroy asks stiffly.
"What the fucks going on, Hayden?" Dad says angrily.
I jump slightly at the sound of my dads voice, when Leroy sees me jump he places his arm on my shoulder for a brief second but swiftly moves it when he realises my dad was staring.
"Don't touch her." Dad hisses. Leroy immediately shuffles backwards away from me. "You guys are still dating?"
My heart beats dramatically to the point I could hear the beats in my chest. I didn't know what to say and Leroy doesn't answer.
"No." I say quietly gulping, I tuck my hair behind my ears. "We're not." I say clearing my throat.
Dad doesn't reply, Leroy's eyes shoot at me. What was I supposed to do? My dad was for sure going to hit Leroy right now, if he knew we were still dating.
"Hey what's going on?"
All of us turn around to find Matty coming towards us with Carlos behind him. "Dad?" Matty calls out chuckling. He fast walks to dad and gives him a brief hug.
"Hey, son." Dad says with laughter in his tone while looking at Matty.
But then he looks back at us, and his tone and facial expression completely changes. "You didn't think about calling me, letting me know that you're living alone?" Dad says angrily.
