*Hayden*

The cold air surrounds me, making the hair on my skin stand and my body shiver. I wrap my arms around my body tightly, trying to warm myself up from the cold. My burgundy knitwear was not keeping me warm at all, but I still remain standing outside in the cold.

It had been a few days since we came back from Australia, it was hard saying good bye to everyone, especially my dad. I knew we couldn't see him until he came back in September. After Leroy had walked away from me I didn't leave the beach until almost ten o clock, despite the fact my dad had called almost a hundred times.

My dad wanted us to have one last dinner, so he could introduce his girlfriend to us. I missed the dinner so I wasn't able to meet her, but Matty told me she's pretty and she seems like she's good for dad. My dad had promised me that he wouldn't say anything to anyone about me and Leroy, because I had told him we already broke up so there was no point.

Emily and Alex weren't at home much for the past few days since we have been back, they were away on business trips, like today. Alex and Emily were in London for new years, shame they couldn't take us.

My thoughts drown the music that was blaring from behind me, inside the house. It was new years eve and Leroy was throwing a party. The house was packed and it seemed like everyone but me was drunk. I was patiently waiting for twelve o clock, so I could slowly watch the crowd simmer down. But it was only half ten.

Slightly shivering I stare into the sky, from the distance I could see some fireworks, I wasn't sure why, it wasn't new years yet. I feel a presence walk towards me, I turn around before the person reached my side. It was Leroy, I turn away from his direction and focus back onto the fireworks from the distance.

He puts his jacket over me, for a second I don't react, the warmth made me want to snuggle up in the jacket and go to sleep. But I shrug the jacket off me, before it hits the ground Leroy grabs it.

"You're cold."

"I'm not." I say quietly, trying to control my shivering.

"Come inside?" He asks.

"No, it's too loud. I'll wait till everyone goes." I say, taking a seat on the steps.

"Why don't you go to your room, at least?" Leroy takes a seat beside me.

I don't reply for a second, I take a deep breath and ask myself why he is bothering me. "Eden is in there."

"So you're just going to stay here for the next few hours?" He asks.

I think for a second, was I really going to do that? I couldn't bare to stay in this position any longer. I don't reply, I just get up and walk away from him. Leroy doesn't call out for me either.

I carry on walking until I get onto the high street, maybe I could just go grab a milkshake, at least it'll be warm inside the shop.

I almost jog to the shop, it was too cold to walk slowly and think. I'm pretty sure my brain was frozen so I couldn't think at all.

I walk into the shop, it was pretty much empty, with the whole town in the mayors house partying. I walk over to the bar and take a seat on the stall.

"Hi, what can I get you?" The young girl working asks.

"Can I have a strawberry milkshake please." I say smiling, and hand her the money.

She smiles at me. "You sure you don't want a hot chocolate or something? You look like you're freezing." She asks, as she puts the money away and hands me the change.

"Yeah, sure, hot chocolate sounds better." I reply with a smile on my face. The waitress nods and turns around.

"Hayden?"
