*Leroy*

Emily had called us down to eat as the food was all set up on the table now. Everyone was given an assigned seat, I sat besides my dad and Hayden sat on the far corner where I couldn't even speak to her, without having to yell from across the table. I put my ear phones in, and let the music drown the noise around me, I couldn't bare to listen to everyone chit chatting, when Emily, on purpose made me and Hayden sit apart.

Abuela passes me a full plate of food, I smile at her and dig in. The quicker I ate, the quicker I could leave. I wanted to give Hayden her present, I wanted to spend time with her. But I couldn't, not with Emily gawking at me every minute.

I grab my cup and sip my drink, I immediately place my cup down when I feel my ear phones being pulled out, and swallow my drink before I feel a thick hand slap the back of my head.

"What the fuck?" I choke, coughing. I rub the back of my head.

"Boy, why have you got your headphones on, in the dinner table?" My papa says with a clenched jaw.

I roll my eyes, and toss the earphones onto the table. Jerk. Everyone's eyes are now on us, I could see Hayden looking with her lost beautiful eyes, waiting for me to talk to her. I shake my head, releasing a quiet growl.

"Fuck this." I spit, getting off my seat and walking out the kitchen, into the backyard. I carry on walking until I can't see the house any longer, I look into the far distance, the sun was almost setting making the water reflect a light orange colour. I was the only one around and it was a little scary, but I wasn't going to go back inside.

*Ping*

Hayden: "What the hell are you doing? Why haven't you spoken to me since I came?"

Dammit Hayden, not right now. I kick the rocks on the beach like they've done something to me.

Hayden: "It's Christmas, and you're icing me out. Bit rude."

ME: "I am not icing you out. I'm just pissed, Hayden."

Hayden: "Whatever. I'm busy eating anyways."

ME: "I'm kind of hungry." Kind of was an understatement, I was starving. The second I let the table, I regretted it but I felt too embarrassed to sit back down. And now I'm standing in the beach, on Christmas ready to catch a fish so I can eat it.

Hayden: "Well, you should've not left then."

ME: "Grab me my plate?"

Hayden: "Are you crazy? If I leave right now, Emily will go wild."

ME: "But, Hayden. I'm your boyfriend, and your boyfriend is hungry :(."

Hayden: "you really want me to risk it?"

ME: "Yeah. Not like Emily would do anything in front of the family. Get your plate too."

I sit down onto the sand, and wait for Hayden to respond. But she was taking her sweet time to reply.

ME: "Hayden, where are you?"

Hayden: "Goddamn, Leroy I'm coming, chill."

A smile spreads across my lips, I didn't really think she'd come. Emily must be burning right now; I'll deal with the consequences later.

After a few minutes of waiting, I see Hayden walking towards me with two plates. She looked beautiful in her dress, the way it swayed in rhythm with her hips. Her hair flying around from the wind, she smiles as she sees me.
