*Hayden*

I walk beside Leroy whilst he holds the box of marshmallows and sticks, our grandparents were now seated near my grandparents and all the other adults. A warm feeling struck inside my stomach as I watched everyone get along, it felt like we were a real family and not broken anymore. Maybe we could make it a habit, coming here more often.

"Marshmallows?" Emily gasps excitedly.

"Yeah." Leroy replies with a grin on his face. "You want to start an actual fire or use the one on the stove, Abuela?" Leroy asks, placing the marshmallows on the ground beside the built in barbeque stove.

Abuela thinks for a second. "We haven't ate our food yet. Would you like to eat first, and then have marshmallows?" She asks in her sweet innocent voice.

It wasn't until now I realised how her and Emily looked identical to each other, she wasn't that old so her pretty features were still so visible. She had long brown hair like Emily, and these bright blue eyes and a sun kissed skin tone. Her cheekbones were high and defined like Emily's, everything the opposite of mine.

I had brunette hair too, but my eyes were brown and if I was lucky, they'd turn a amber colour. My cheekbones weren't too high or defined, I just barely had cheekbones that needed to be contoured the hell out of to look stunning like My moms and grandmas. My skin tone was slightly sun kissed, but not as near as glowy as theirs, I was pretty much the opposite of them.

I even had a different personality from them, I was not approachable like they were. I had my granddad's eyes, because my dad and everyone else in his family including Matty, had emerald green eyes. I was totally jealous of their eyes, because it sucked having the least eye catching colour.

But I had my dads jaw line and thick lashes, which I was grateful for. Even though my dad was in his late thirties, he looked handsome as ever. My dad was much more handsome than Alex, I don't understand what my mom saw in Alex.

"What's on your mind? Come sit down." Dad calls out to me, reaching his hand towards me.

I walk towards him and grab his hand and take a seat on the wooden bench that my dad was sitting on. "Nothing." I say with a smile on my face. "I think we should eat first, I'm kind of starving, and it's getting dark." I say with a small laugh.

"Fatty." Leroy smirks. I laugh at him, sticking a tongue out.

"Food it is, boys come here and get your plates. Abuelo's plating everything up nicely for everyone!" Abuela calls out for Matty and Carlos, and Jesus who was near them to come. I couldn't see where Bella was, but I was glad she wasn't here.

Leroy stand up and grabs two plates. "Why are you taking two plates for!" My Granddad says slapping Leroy's arm playfully.

"It's for Hayden." Leroy whines. "Your granddaughter like's her food." Leroy grins, walking towards me. Flashbacks of the morning after we both got high came to my mind, we ate a lot of food that day, I missed that.

"Thank you, Leroy." I say with a flirtatious smile, followed by a laugh.

"I was wrong about you Leroy, you're a good man." My dad says, taking us all by surprise. "Here, you sit here. I'll sit with the adults." Dad get's up, gesturing Leroy to sit.

"Thank you." Leroy says in a surprised tone, and his facial expression mirrors it.

"Eat up, mija." My dad says looking at me. I nod in response, and take a bite off the drumstick on my plate.

"Wow, what was that." Leroy says stunning. "Your dad has never been this frickin' nice." He lets out a shocked laugh.

"He's never been nice at all to you." I start laughing.
