Chapter 44

"Just call if you need anything okay ? You know I'll come faster than ever ." James gave me a worried look .

We're currently parked infront of my apartment complex and he's very hesitant to letting me leave . Especially since my dad's car was parked in the garage when he went in to check if it was "safe" as he says it .

"James I'm fine ." I gave him a quick kiss and opened the car door.

I walked through the front entrance then through the lobby very slowly. I walked up the stairs instead of going on the elevator then went through the hallway of the floor below us just to go to the stairs again and finally make it to my floor. I didn't want to be home in fear my dad would be very upset with me. I already know my dad's upset , but knowing my dad.

I tried my best to be quiet as I unlocked the door and went inside , but their laughing stopped as soon as I closed the door shut. I didn't move waiting for them to think that they just heard something and keep talking. They didn't sadly and my dad called out my name.

"Yeah." I called back.

I walked into the living room and watched my dad stare at me with disappointment and his friend just stare at me with a smile. I waved then walked away only to have my dad call me back into the room, but this time alone.

"What ?" I shifted from foot to foot.

"What do you mean what, " He started . "This was very important to me and you just walked out ! She felt like you didn't like her and you were just being plain rude."

"I just got out of the hospital and you wanted me to  meet a new friend of yours , but we both know this is your new girlfriend. It was too overwhelming for me . Don't you think I should've just stayed home and met her another time?'  I huffed.

He crossed his arms in defeat and stayed silent , but nodded his head In agreement . He said an apology and sent me to my room. I heard noise in the bathroom and knew his little friend was going to be here a while.

So I grabbed my phone and decided to make a call.

"Hello babycakes. " James answered.

"Never again." I cringed.

he let out a laugh and I could here him shifting around . Probably trying to get comfortable in his bed. He let out a cough then stayed silent , so I decided to make conversation.

" I think she's spending the night." I started.

"Oh god why are you still home. Get out of there !" He joked.

"Don't even start with that." I gagged.

"Maybe I should come guarantee they wont notice the bed rocking , it's perfect timing."

"Edward shut up." I shook my head even though he couldn't see me .

I got up with the phone pressed against my ear looking for some shorts and a loose t-shirt t wear to bed. He started telling me about what his mom is doing and how David wishes I'm okay, but he started mentioning how Tom is actually still upset . I started to get really sleepy mid phone call and ended up dozing off .

I woke up to someone softly caressing my face. I freaked out and swung my fist, but it was caught and I let out a breath ready to scream. My mouth was covered and I was pressed against the bed . I then noticed the brown eyes I came to adore , but heard another noise in the distance then looked at the door and back at James. He made a face at me basically confirming what my thoughts were.

"Ew.." I made a face .

"I know ." James whispered back at me .

'How'd you get in here ?" I asked.

I have a key to your house."

'What? Since when."

"Doesn't matter now I'm tired of hearing that noise so please distract me." He leaned in and kissed me.

The kiss was soft ,but ended up getting a little heated and I didn't know what to do and being honest it started to get me a little nervous. He brought his hands to my face cupping my cheeks and looked me in the eyes. With a raspy voice and dark eyes he whispered to me,

"They won't notice a thing .. "

I licked my lips and whispered back , "Okay.."
