I was sitting at on my kitchen counter top with a water bottle on the microwave next to me and my legs lazily crossed over each other. I haven't had a decent conversation with my dad in a while, if he's home it's either really late at night or early in the morning when I'm not here. How I know he's here is because he leaves a note and trash from his breakfast on the kitchen counter top I'm sitting on.

My phone rang, I looked at it for a while then decided to answer it.

"Hello?"

"Hey." It was Sarah.

"Sarah!!" I squealed happily.

"Amanda!!" Her voice was a bit raspy.

"Hey! How are you feeling?" I asked excitedly.

"Great! I might be able to go home soon actually!" She said.

"That's amazing!"

"Yeah, my doctor said I have maybe a month or so then I'm out of here." She laughed.

"I can't wait to see you again, after my shift tomorrow I'll visit you!" I pressed the phone against my cheek harder.

"You have school to focus on."

"I know but I'll ju-"

"No, I love you."

"I love you too." I whined.

"Talk to you tomorrow."

"Goodnight my love."

"Goodnight my love." I repeated.

After hanging up with her I took a long bath and enjoyed the small time I had for myself.

I had sweats and a black spaghetti strap on with fuzzy socks since it was colder than ever. I went over to my desk and opened up my small notebook where I wrote how I felt or just song lyrics for no apparent reason.

James Franco.

I continued to write his name till my hand ached, I rubbed it and drank my water bottle. I did a fee pages of homework then put everything away.

I crawled into bed and laid there thinking, what would happen if Sarah wasn't getting better? What if I never met James or what if he's just using me. I got up and went to my notebook grabbing my pen once again.

Life is full of "what if's"

I wrote on about the many futures that could happen if I did certain things. I questioned my sanity for a second then laughed and went to the kitchen to make a salad at.. Ten in the night.

I watched an episode of friends alone, like always. It was the one where Monica thinks the new cleaning lady is stealing her clothes, I die every time.

"Dear God!" I mimicked Chandler with a laugh.

My phone buzzed again, wow aren't I famous. I received a text from Jessica asking if I was busy the following day, I replied with a no and waited.

"I'm so Chandler." I laughed.

Jessica offered to take me to a movie for some bonding thing, I obviously said yes since I had no life. I watched my phone light up with her reply, but payed no attention to it. Then James called, I picked up immediately.

"Hello?"

"Hey, are you busy?" He asked.

"Is everyone gonna ask me that today?" I joked.

"What?! Who asked you that? Was it that one guy from school- I'm swear Manda I'm gonna-"

"James!" I yelled stopping him from his small rant.

"Yes."

"It was Jessica."

"Who?"

"My friend." I hope she was.

"I knew that, anyway I'm here so if you would please come out."

"James, I'm in pj's and it's almost eleven." I argued.

"Buzz kill." He mocked me.

"I actually care about what I'm going to do in life." I sassed.

"That hurt my ice heart."

"Are you really outside my apartment building?"

"No, I wanted to see if you'd do it or not."

"I'm hanging up."

"What! No." He whined.

I placed my bowl into the sink and drank the rest of my water to wash down the taste. "James, I need to get ready."

"For what?"

"Bed."

I put him on speaker while putting my hair in a ponytail no caring about the ugly outcome. I brushed my teeth listening to him complain, while doing so I also washed my face.

"Are you even listening to me!" He shouted.

"James! Go to bed!" His mother yelled in the background.

I laughed taking my phone with me to bed. I snuggled into my blankets and listened to him apologize.

"I'm guessing your tired." He sounded sleepy himself.

"Yes, sing me to sleep!" I smiled.

So he did, even if his voice was a little raspy and cracked from time to time.
