"Is she gonna be okay?"

"Yes, she is fine."

"Thank you doctor."

I opened my eyes when I heard the doors close and groaned at the bright light.

"Alcohol? Really Amanda." My dad scolded.

"I didn't have any." I lied.

"That's not what your doctor said. He said she got in an accident because of  driving intoxicated-"

"That doesn't mean it was me." I interrupted.

"Then you should know better than be in the car with someone who is drinking!" He frowned. "How stupid can you be?!"

"I was raised by you." I said in a low voice.

"Smart ass." He narrowed his eyes at me and stood up from his seat.

"You just can't do anything right can you?" He started to pace back and forth.

I felt tears come to my eyes because I couldn't get yelled at. It's not that I couldn't take it or that I was sensitive because I'm not, I have my moments though. I'm not necessarily a good person and I know this too, I beat myself up for it constantly then someone yells at me and it just turns my heart to flames as my emotion et mixed then it turns cold as ice when it's all over.

"And don't cry either!" He hissed.

"I didn't do anything wrong." I said.

"You never do anything wrong."

"No. You, don't do anything wrong. You act like you're perfect and that everything's okay, but it's not!" I argued.

"I don't want to hear it!" He left, slamming the door in the process.

I let the tears slip and let out a low cry. The monitor kept beeping because of how fast my heart beat, I looked at it trying to calm myself.

"What are you doing here?" I could hear my dad say sternly.

"To see Amanda, I need to know if she's okay." It was James.

I wanted to get out of bed and see him, but I felt weak. I checked my body for any marks or bruises and found a few. Nothing was broken thankfully I just had a big head ache.

"She doesn't need you here." My dads voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Well someone cares about her and it's obviously not you."

The door opened and he walked in with a mad expression. He made eye contact with me and gave me a relieved look, he grabbed a chair and sat down next to me taking my hand in his.

"Hey." I whispered.

"Hi." He replied.

I didn't know if he was mad or not so I just stared at him, waiting.

"So, what happened?" He looked at me.

"She said she wanted you."

"Your blonde friend?"

"I thought she was." I told him.

"Your dad hates me." He changed the subject.

"He thinks we slept together." I laughed giving him a grateful smile, I didn't want to fight.

"I wouldn't do anything you didn't want to." He held a serious face.

"I know." The door opened.

My nurse came in to door her regular check up, James held my hand the whole time refusing to move from his spot.

My dad came in once, saw James, walked back out. I laughed at James who was falling in and out of consciousness from lack of sleep.

"Got to sleep, I'll be here when you wake up." I told him running my hands through his hair.

"No." He said, his face pressed against the mattress.

I waited a few minutes then smiled when he let out a soft snore then giggled when he let out a loud one.

"How are you feeling?" The nurse came in again.

"Yeah, I'm great." I smiled and patted James head.
