* John’s POV *
Preparing for the court trial was the only thing that occupied our minds last week. Each morning, we’d give a time to read all the data that Xander had gathered for us while he was away with Carla. We were all thankful that someone had provided us with what could help us in sending Carla away for good. Though, we were also saddened that we were all coming back to that miserable state we had when Xander had left us.
It wasn’t easy, knowing these were all planned by Xander, and yet, he’s the one who wouldn’t be with us. He wouldn’t be in front questioned of the things Carla had done to him, or even confirm how his biological mother had planned it all. But one thing is for sure, we’re all going to do this, not because of our safety, but for him as well.
If it weren’t for him, we probably would be hiding out in our caves for different reasons – preparing for another battle of kidnappings and gun shots.
As we were about to head out for the day, Tristan had entered the room with piles of envelopes in his hands. He gave it straightaway to each one of us, informing that he had copied all the documents and duplicated it in case something happens with one. We can never be too sure as Carla had apparently been working on her revenge twenty years tops.
“Should we meet up again tonight?” Slade asked. The guy was proper nervous about the trial tomorrow. To be honest, everyone was including me that I have been absent for Justice Crew rehearsals the whole week, prepping up for this.
“I think we had enough meetings to last a lifetime.” Chase uttered. “Perhaps, it’s better if we all sleep on it so we can have the energy tomorrow.” We all nodded.
As we headed out of the room, Hope, Faith, Love, and Serenity were lined up outside, waiting for all of us. And yes, I just had to use Hope because it would fit and added more effect.
“What are you all four doing out here?” Blade, being the eldest of the Conners and Hughes, asked the four siblings.
However, no one spoke up and just watched us get out of the room, like nothing was going on in their minds. Slade was curious though and asked them, but not a word was spoken.
“Okay, you’re all freaking us out.” Chase commented as Love glared. “Except you, you’re cute.”
I laughed as Chase sent me deathly glares, perhaps thinking I didn’t agree with him. “Dude, just so you know, Love is identical with Bailey and Faith.”
“I wasn’t just saying about the face.” Chase explained, rolling his eyes.
“Can John and I go out?” Bailey asked, disrupting the glares from Chase as Blade shook his head no.
“Not right now, Bailey. Tomorrow’s the court date and we all need to rest. It’s not that I don’t want you to have fun or anything, but maybe it would be better if we’re all at home today. Just in case.” Blade explained as Bailey nodded.
She understood the whole thing now, though we were still worried about her for tomorrow. She may act calm outside, but we knew deep inside, she was already shitting bricks.
“Okay, movie marathon then?” Everyone agreed and headed out to the lounge room. It was one activity that the people in this house enjoyed. They now have a massive collection of DVD stacked in their entertainment room.

We spent the whole day at the mansion, watching movies, playing video games, and eating like it was our last day. It was fun though, even if we were pretending to be on house arrest. It’s truly is more fun hanging out at home when you’re with family members, and these people were more like brothers to me.
