* John’s POV *

Today marks the longest time I’ve spent at the breakfast table, enjoying the delectable food that my fiance has made for me. It’s not that I was trying to finish everything, because I’d probably end up being a whale after, but it was mostly because I was delaying the time of getting out of the house.

When I felt like I was starting to get full, I slowed down a bit, but continued eating, only because my nightmare this morning was coming back to my mind. To be honest, I was worried – scared even as different scenarios came in popping in my head.

What if this was one of those dreams that came true? What if Slade and Serenity just acted we were friends so we could trust them? What if they were already waiting outside my house and plotting a way to separate us? What if…

“Babe, are you done?” Bailey asked, waking me up from my thoughts. Possibly noticing how I was in the middle of spacing out, she spoke again. “Are you alright?”

I nodded, obviously lying about it. “I’ll just shower and get ready.” I uttered, leaving the dining area too soon as I headed back to my bedroom, getting my phone out and looking for help.

“Are you at mum’s yet?” I asked the minute I heard Len said hello.

“Hello to you too, John, and not yet. Still getting ready. What’s up?” Len asked. If I had a choice, I didn’t want to call up Len, for the reason that I’ve done so much towards him, involving his and Harley’s life in the picture, and for sure, I didn’t want to drag them again. But I was at the point I didn’t know what to do, and I didn’t want to stress my girl either.

It wasn’t that I’d rather get Len involved in my mess, but I knew we’d be safer if more family was involved, and we trust each other.

“Can you come pick us up?” I inquired. “I’ve got no time to explain, but please. It’s really important.” I said, in a voice that Len didn’t even think twice and just agreed to come and pick us up. “Thanks. Maybe you should call Ray or Brian too.”

“Are we putting up our own troop?” Len chuckled, but stopped when he didn’t hear a thing from me. “Wait, that bad? What happened now?” He sighed.

“I’ll explain at the house. Bailey’s here with me.” I uttered, hanging up as I heard Bailey opened the door to the bedroom.

“Oh, I thought you were already taking a shower.” She told me as she went inside and moved towards the bed, fixing it up.

“You’re making me spoiled.” I smiled. “You don’t have to do that, babe! I’ll do it later.”

“It’s fine. Go and take a shower!” She exclaimed as I nodded.

“Oh, you’re all here!” Mum greeted us at the front door. “I thought it was just Len and Alesia.”

“We picked them up.” Len uttered.

“What happened to your cars?” Mum asked Ray and I.

“Nothing, just thought of carpooling like little kids.” Ray laughed, but soon gave me a knowing look that my paranoid self was the culprit for the sudden carpool.

“That’s nice!” Mum commented, and as soon as she had headed back to the kitchen, they all had bugged me to speak up, and no, it wasn’t because of the engagement, but more of the reason behind the mode of transportation today.

I fake laughed, waving it off since Bailey was still around, sitting comfortably on my lap. So this is how pregnant Bailey is – not complaining at all!
