* Bailey’s POV *
It has been two days since I came home from the hospital and it felt like it was the first time I ever spent time with my family. Like I was born just a couple of days ago at how sweet they all were. Even the guys were making me uncomfortable of how accommodating they were that sometimes I think that they wanted something from me.
And I guess I’m not the only one who’s uncomfortable with the situation. John kept glaring at the guys when he was around, telling them that he already got me covered and that all I needed is him.
He was right though. Just the fact I had him around made me feel like I was complete. He made up everything that had me doubted before, and I felt guilty at how I kind of played him when I got back. Hurting him was over the top, but still I was thankful that after everything, he forgot all about those and started anew. Perhaps he had forgotten about the bad parts and just focused on the amazing times we’ve had together.
If only I could recall all of those.
Sometimes I feel like I’ve forgotten some events in my life, especially those earlier times before all the issues came up. All the mess of how I became a Hughes and an heiress.
And I just have a solution to that.
All these times, John has done nothing but to make up to me, so I thought of an idea to pay for everything, even though he said that having me around is more than enough. But still, I think it would have been better if he too would feel that I was sorry about everything. Now I’m making a promise that this time around, I’ll be the one making the initiative and making him feel that he is special to me.
I got up from my bed and quickly freshened up and got ready for the long day ahead. Once I was done, I was now at the lounge room, waiting for John to come round. Hopefully, he wouldn’t have to be with the Justice Crew boys for the whole day.
As soon as I’ve met everyone’s eyes, they all stared at me like I was some glass and in just one move, I could break. I simply rolled my eyes and plopped down on the sofa, joining them for a movie marathon. Serenity passed me a bowl of popcorn as Jared snatched a few and tasted it first, before telling me it tasted fine. Serenity glared at him as he hid behind Levi.
Well, nothing’s new.
“So where are we heading out today?” Chase asked, but didn’t avert his gaze from the huge telly we had at the lounge room.
I smiled. “I’m going out, and you’re not coming.” I uttered.
But Blade heard what I said, and being the paranoid guy that he was, he didn’t like the idea of me going out alone without someone watching over me. “You know the rules, Bailey.”
“Exactly.” I answered him and he got that look in his face that he was now confused. “You called me Bailey, so I’m going out like how Bailey used to go out… alone.”
“No. I’m just calling you Bailey because that’s how you wanted to be called. Plus Hope sounds weird and plain to be honest.” Blade explained. “But Bailey or Hope, you’re still a Hughes. Therefore, we need to watch you.”
“No Blade, every bad person is in prison now. At least, let me have my life back. You told us that after all of these we could be our own person.” I pouted and I heard him sigh. “Sladey, help me out here pwease.”
“She’s right, Blade. Everyone’s in prison now.” Slade uttered, sending me a wink that told me he got my back.
“Really, Sladey?” Blade mocked and rolled his eyes. “Fine. You guys sort this out.” He uttered as he stood up and left the room.
