We try so hard
Rip out our own hearts,
Tie them up
And parade them around
Its a game of "don't let it touch the ground"
Or "don't let it float away"
We throw on our pretty dresses, and show the world our hearts
And for some reason
So many people
Simply want to break it
To hear the sound you make when the needle they grab
Isn't to sew that heart back up
To fuse two hearts together
You're surprised until you realize
They didn't have a heart
And the good ones are so hard to find
Because so many of them throw a weight on your sholders, making your heart heavy
It gets so hard to hold
And when you finally think you're okay again
Someone snips away at that rope you tied to you heart
And it flies, just for a moment,
If you let it continue
You'd lose something so great
You pull your heart closer, slowly closing them off
You let them stab your back
You let them go
While wishing they would stay
But they think it's a game
Remember your life is much more important than that
There is someone out there
Who will make you feel complete
Don't shut out the world
Don't put up a fence around your mind
Just because of that one person who got to your heart
Because there is someone
Who can make you feel at peace
