A/N: This was just an idea I got from a picture that was shown to me in one of my classes. I might actually use it in part of one of my stories.

The taste of electricity sat in the air, and I knew those big, dark clouds were not just going to pass over head. I happened to be in a thin black dress, and without a jacket when the rain began to splash around me, cold on my arms.
He pulled up his umbrella and continued to walk ahead of me. Water fell harder on my head while it slid from the umbrella, keeping him dry. Soon my hair clung to my face, and my feet- covered by flats that were much too small- stung before going numb.
A light stretched across the sky, jumping from cloud to cloud. Soon an echoing thunder shook the ground. Tired, my legs shuttered beneath me.
"Hurry up, *Adeline." He hissed, and I shook once more remembering how much I hated it when he said my name. How much I hated it when he would simply talk.
I was nothing to him.

* I really like the name Adeline, though I might never use it. I like to imagine that this girl absolutely hates her name, and prefers the shortened version of her name Adi, or Addi.
