Ch:16 The Song "Parting Glass".

I was about to say something, but he cut me off with a kiss. He quickly said "I'm falling inlove with you". I smiled and said "I was going to say that I love you". We both smiled and kissed eachother. He cupped my cheeks in his hands and I wrapped my arms around his neck. We kissed until we looked around. Everybody stopped talking and they were smiling at us.

I smiled and let go of him. I leaned back on the log and looked over at Daryl. He laughed and said "my little ass kicker has a boyfriend". I laughed and said "so what if I do". I looked back at Carl and smiled. He looked at Daryl and said "she's my ass kicker now. They both smiled and started to laugh. Rick looked over and jokingly said "ok, so when is the first grandkid coming"? I smiled and said "not any time soon".

Everybody laughed a bit. It was nice to just relax for once and not have to worry about walkers. At least we all had a bit of humanity left in us. I looked at Carl and asked "what are you looking at"? He said "I could have sworn I saw something move in the woods over there". Daryl and I looked at eachother. I guess he heard what Carl said. Daryl and I got up and walked over. There was someone humming and I asked "hello, is anyone there"?

I saw something walk behind a tree so I ran to it and tackled it. It was a girl with blond hair. She was crying and asked "have you seen Maggie"? I got excited and asked "are you Beth"? She nodded and I helped her up. I put my arm around her and screamed "Maggie I found Beth". I walked Beth to the campfire and she ran to Maggie.

They started to cry tears of joy when they hugged. Maggie kissed Beth's cheek about a million times. They finally calmed down and Rick said "nice to have you back Beth". I smiled when Maggie said "thank you so much for finding her". Daryl sat beside me again and said "man, your just finding eveybody arent you". I laughed and said "yep, I'm a tracker remember". Daryl laughed and said "lets make some bows".

It was dark out so we stayed my the lighting of the fire as we picked brances off of the trees. I collected about 20 so I walked back to the fire and sat by Carl. Daryl came with a big pile to and we joined them together. I grabbed both my knives and handed one to Daryl. He took it and said "thanks sweetheart".

We each grabbed a stick and stroked our knives across them. As we stroked mine became sharp. I showed Daryl and asked "now how do I make the slit on the back so it will load into the crossbow"? He grabbed my stcik and showed me how to gently cut into it. We looked up and everybody was smiling at us. I looked around and asked "what"?

Rick smiled and said "if we didnt know you I would say that you guys were brother and sister". I smiled and hugged Daryl. I said "well he is my big brother". Daryl smiled and wrapped his arm around me. He said "and she is my little ass kicking sister". He kissed my forehead and we went back to making homemade bows.

Everyone smiled then Beth said "I miss daddy". I looked up as I sharpened and I said "sorry bout your dad". She looked at me and said "thanks". Maggie smiled and said to me "watch it, you almost cut your finger". I smiled and said "Well I've got shot so a little cut wouldnt bother me". I gave her a look and we both started to laugh. Maggie stopped laughing for a second and said "I'm sorry ok, I thought you were a walker". I said "yeah, a walker that was holding a crossbow, and talking". Maggie said "ok, it sounds bad when you say it like that".

After we got back to carving I remembered a song that I used to sing as a kid. I started to hum it then stopped when people started to look at me. I looked at my arrow and loaded it into my crossbow. It was a perfect fit so I did exactly the same thing for every single one of the arrows.

Daryl looked over and said "tie". I smiled and said "no, I think you beat me by a few minutes". I filled the holder on my crossbow with arrows. Daryl did the same and we put the rest of our arrows in a small pile on the other side of the log. I loaded mine in case of an emergency. I loaded his to and said "just in case". He smiled and said "good thinking".

Carl smiled and asked "what were you humming"? I smiled and said "it was a song my mom sang to me as a kid". Maggie asked "whats it called because it soulnded familiar when you hummed it". I said "it's called the parting glass". Beth looked up and repeathed "The Parting Glass". I said "yep". Beth looked at Maggie, then she looked at me. Beth said "lets all 3 sing it". I smiled and said "ok".

I closed my eyes and started to sing.

"Oh all the money that e'er I spent
I spent it in good company".

Beth and Maggie joined in and sang with me.

"And all the harm that e'er I've done

Alas, it was to none but me "

To memory now I can't recall

After we finished singing everyone was smiling. Beth looked at me and said "wow, your a good singer". Maggie smiled and agreed. I said "thank you" and was cut off by Daryl. He was clapping and said "oncore"! So we sang it again.

After we finished singing it again Beth started to cry and held onto Maggie. I got up and walked over to her. I sat down next to her. I hugged her and she hugged me back. Maggie said "she will be ok, our dad used to sing us that song before we went to bed, thats why she is upset". I whispered in Beth's ear "it will get better, I promise, I should know". Beth asked "how does it get better"? I said "you forget about it".

A few minutes later Beth was asleep. I carefully put her in Maggie's arms and kissed them noth on the head. I walked back over to the boys and sat inbetween them. Carl said "you have a beautiful singing voice". I smiled and kissed him quickly on the cheeks. I faced Daryl and kissed him on the cheek as I said "good night". Daryl smiled and said "good night ass kicker". I crawled behind him and Carl crawled behind me.

He wrapped his arm around my waist. I didnt know what to do, but instinct took over and I put my hand over his. He quietly whispered "I love you" into my ear then kissed it". I rolled over and faced him. I smiled a huge smiled and said "I love you too". I kissed him and wouldnt stop. He put his hand on the back of my head and kept my lips connected to his.

As we kissed he tried to french kiss me. My eyes popped open and then I understood what he was doing. I let him french kiss me and it was actually pretty nice. After we disconnected the kiss we both were blushing like crazy. I turned over and grabbed his hand. I wrapped his hand around me and I slowly fell asleep.

NEXT DAY"

"AAAAAHHHHH". My eyes popped open and it was all a haze. there was smoke everywhere and I began to cough. It wasnt smoke from the fire so I was really confused. I was disoriented and tried to look around. While in a haze I seen Michonne killing walkers, I seen Maggie grab Beth, and I seen Rick and Daryl fighting something. Carl was by my side trying to help me up. I tried to focus my vison, but it was all blurry. I felt Carl leave and seen him on the ground next to me. Then a set of hands picked me up and carried me away.
