-Erwin's POV-
My eyes pull themselves open from a much needed sleep my body feels energized for the first time since Wall Maria fell. I tilt my head up and rotate the soreness out of my neck before sitting up and stretching my arms over my head. My back pops in several places and I sigh that's what I get for falling asleep while doing paperwork.
I sit up and back trying to relax against the back of my chair but there is a bundle of cloth prohibiting me from fully relaxing. Furrowing my brow I reach back and pull out the cloth. How did this blanket get here? I look down on the blanket and sigh I believe this blanket was on my bed last. Does this mean Sakura covered me while I was sleeping? I shake my head almost instantly tossing out the thought.
I get up from my chair and toss the blanket over my shoulder. I wonder if Sakura is up yet? I step out into the hallway and stop in front of her door. I peer at the door closely noticing that it is slightly ajar but no sounds come from her room or the rest of the house. On my way downstairs I stop at my room and notice that someone has indeed been in my room besides myself in the past 24 hours. I drop the blanket off and trudge down the steps my stomach leading me instantly to the kitchen.
The first thing I notice is clean dishes drying in the strainer that weren't there the night before. Yeah Sakura is awake and by the looks of it cooked herself breakfast but if she is awake where is she?
I look up at the kitchen window just as a blur dashes past it. My eyes widen and I jog across the kitchen to look out the window but I don't see the blur again. Without hesitation I turn and run for the back door jerking it open I jog down the steps and stop at the foot of the steps.
Sakura comes dashing from around the house sweat is dripping down her face and her eyes are narrowed in concentration. As soon as her foot hits the grass she shoves off her right foot and flips through the air she takes her left foot and kicks it outward. She yelps in midair and hits the ground on her knees instead of her feet I hear her hiss from in between her teeth she balls up her fists.
"Again." She scolds herself and slowly drags herself to her feet.
"You're pushing yourself when you shouldn't be." I say.
"I have to, so I will be ready when the training regimen starts again in a year." She answers she doesn't raise her head to look at me but keeps looking at the ground and picks at her Survey Corps cloak. Her shoulders are tense and her breaths are coming out ragged from either the pain from her ribs or the exertion of training or both.
"Yeah in a year! Right now you are injured and need to take it slow."
"I have to be ready." She says instead of agreeing. I see her legs tense up and she leans forward slightly preparing herself to keep going.
"Have you even eaten this morning or are you just running on empty?" I ask while crossing my arms over my chest.
She sighs and looks up at me her green eyes are cold,"I have indeed eaten this morning, your food, sir, is in the microwave."
That takes me by surprise she actually cooked for me? I open my mouth in surprise then snap it shut, for a couple seconds I'm actually at a loss for words.
"Now will you go so I can continue training?" She snaps at me.
I sigh missing the old happy go lucky Sakura but that Sakura died along with her father and this colder harsher Sakura was born.
I sigh and turn my back on her,"If you are going to train at least train with Kurodayu so you can get better at horse back riding."
I walk back into the house and start to the microwave and, just like she said, a plate with scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy sit there. My stomach rumbles in satisfaction and I snatch the plate and walk back to my office.
-Sakura's POV-
"If you are going to train at least train with Kurodayu so you can get better at horse back riding."
I narrow my eyes at his suggestion and glare at his retreating back. As much as I hate to admit, his suggestion is probably the best. I have only been training for a couple minutes and my lungs is already killing me.
With a sigh I turn on my heel and storm to the stables where Kurodayu is waiting. I trained for hours with Kurodayu right before I called it quits I was able to run Kurodayu and even jump him over fallen logs. It was fun even if it reminded me of my father. I shake those thoughts out of my head and kick my boots off at the back door.
The cold glass feels nice against my heated skin I tip the glass back and down its contents enjoying the cool feeling of the water that slides down my throat.
"Oi, brat, good to see your finally awake." Levi grumbles from the door of the kitchen.
I turn and look at him,"I appreciate your concern."
"It wasn't concern." He growls and glares at me.
I place a hand over my heart and pretend to look hurt,"You weren't concerned about little old me?"
"Not at all." He keeps glaring at me.
I return the glare,"When did you get here anyway, Levi?"
"I don't believe that is any of your business." He growls and takes a step toward me.
"I live here now so I believe it is." I take a step toward him and we are practically nose to nose.
Levi opens his mouth to reply but is cut off by Erwin's voice.
"Stop fighting! God, you guys are like a bunch of kids."
We don't move from our positions but continue glaring at each other.
Erwin's hand comes down on Levi's shoulder,"This way kiddo." He pulls Levi backward and toward the kitchen table.
"Must you get in each other's faces?" Erwin scolds the both of us.
I huff and turn around to fill up my glass with water again. I turn on my heel to leave when Levi speaks up.
"I regretted getting in her face as soon as I did. She stinks and looks absolutely filthy." He growls.
I turn around and face him Erwin's eyes are wide and Levi has a cocky smirk on his face I give him a fake sweet smile.
"Levi don't talk because when you do I can literally feel the IQ of the entire street lower."
Levi narrows his eyes at my comment and Erwin obviously can't help himself and bursts out laughing. I flash Levi another fake smile then turn on my heel and head for the upstairs bathroom listening to Erwin's laughter all the way there.
