The formation was required to travel through three towns that day. The first two already had supply points set up, the third was our destination; where we are to set up yet another supply point. A supply point that is necessary for the redemption of Wall Maria. At least that was the original plan, once we arrived at the third town to find it was completely overrun by numerous amounts of hungry Titans. The Titans tore us apart, destroyed the heavily organized formation we had and practically killed our plans.

I dash along the slight slope of a roof, the 10 meter class Titan, that has been following me for the past ten minutes, smashes his fist into the roof. It's fist narrowly misses my back by only a couple of inches; the momentum of the hit causing my balance to waver and my weight to be thrown forward. I'm able to keep my balance until I reach the daunting edge of the roof where I flip off the edge of the building and spin around my hooks hooking onto its shoulder. My blades are only flashes as they dig into its arm and tear apart the muscle and skin that holds it's arm together. I land on its shoulder, the Titan howls with pain it's wide and hunger filled eyes seems to glaze over with pain and anger.
I sneer,"Don't move too much I don't want to have to get messy."
I hop off its shoulder and hook onto the skin just below the nape of the neck, with a flick of my wrist my blades impale its skin and end it's life.
"Sakura! Get down here, help with the injured!" Levi yells from a rooftop a couple streets over just as I land on a roof beside the already steaming Titan.
I nod my head,"Yes sir!"
I grapple down next to Petra who is feverishly tending to a soldier with a profound gash in his lower stomach. Unshed tears are glistening in her golden eyes as she presses harder into the wound, the man whimpers in protest, but makes no move to remove the pressure that has been applied to his stomach. Blood begins to slowly dribble down his chin as Levi lands next to the man. His coal black eyes soften slightly as he gazes at the pain stricken man, he kneels down next to him and runs his eyes over his body to check for any other additional wounds. He finds none and fixates his attention back onto his face.
"Captain Levi... He won't stop bleeding." Petra whimpers.
"C-captain L-Levi." The man whispers, he slowly raises up his blooded hand,"D-d-did I help t-t-the fight? Did I-I help h-h-humanity's f-f-f-fight?"
I gape at the man, a lump slowly forming at the back of my throat. I might not know the man, but he has a family, he has a name and friends that care about him, that love him. Just like any other human being that lives on this hell of a planet. Yet instead if asking us to tell his loved ones that he loves them, he asks
-in his last moments-if he helped humanity.
Levi reaches up and grabs his bloody hand squeezing it slightly as the man's blood rolls down
Levi's hand,"Yes you did," he reassures the man,"Your death will help motivate me to obliterate the Titans." Levi leans forward slightly his eyes wild with determination,"I promise you I will obliterate the Titans!"
"Captain Levi...he's gone." Petra whispers, squeezing her eyes shut and turning away from him. Levi blinks in surprise and turns toward Petra.
"Did he hear me to the end?"
"Yes, I'm sure of it," she looks down at the man's face,"he looks so peaceful."
I feel weak in the knees, staring at the man's pale and expressionless face. I have seen death, witnessed it too many times to count, I have seen the light fade from youthful eyes and have had people's blood splattered across my chest. It's something we are forced to live with everyday, something we have to bear on our shoulders until the day we die. But, there is something about this man that is tugging at my heart, or maybe it was the scene I just witnessed either way it's something that is forcing me away from reality, to one of the many training days my father forced on me.

-Flashback-
My dad takes my small hands into his own, he gently rearranges my fingers so my pinkies are sticking out then places them at my lips. His caring eyes shine with love and he smiles gently at me, silently reassuring me that I can do this even though we have been at it for hours with no further progress.
"Remember blow HARD and you will be able to whistle as loud as a collapsing building."
I eye the smiling man before me carefully before slowly closing my eyes and blowing as hard as I can. The whistle is still feeble when it comes to shrillness, even weaker when it come to loudness. But I have finally been able to do it. After hours of useless blowing I have finally created some form of the shrill whistle my father is attempting to teach me. Attempting, I must say.
My dad smiles and stands up placing a hand on my hand,"If you keep practicing you will be able to do it as loud as I,"he messes up my hair,"remember to use this whistle in times of need, Sakura, for it can save lives."
-End of flashback-

That's right, I muse to myself as I peer down at my fingers that are curled around the maneuvering gear triggers. All the sounds and actions that was so loud before seems muted as my mind whirls around like an unseeing animal in a field of smoke. Slowly, my mind sharpens, clarity is readjusted and I'm able to think clearly, all the smoke that was clouding my mind is swept away and I'm suddenly left with a startling choice. I can save us by using this skill I have obtained through my father or I can attempt to kill the remaining twenty or so Titans with the rest of the surviving soldiers by aimlessly hacking away at the nape of their necks. Of course, it wasn't hard to choose especially when I can lead the Titans away long enough for the formation to regroup and retreat. There is also the fact that I am stuck with these Titans following me around, so, I guess, I have no choice but to add that I have to kill them as well. Which points to the fact that this is quite literally a suicide mission, but it is all we have and the only chance we could possibly get to get out of this mess.
I sigh and hang my head, silently apologizing to Erwin for running head long into a suicide mission and not telling him or my superior head nor tail of my plan. Knowing that I don't have enough time to do such a thing although it would be rather nice if I had a small elite squad killing them as I lured them away. Even though, at the time, it's to much to ask for mostly because the world is not a wish granting factory I can still wish. I take a deep breath careful to make sure that the anxiety that is threatening to build up is locked away and thrown out. I slowly open my eyes and almost immediately I dash forward, running past Captain Levi and Petra toward the tallest building in the area that I can see at the moment.
"What the hell do you think you're doing? Sakura!" Levi yells at my back.
I don't answer, I keep my eyes forward and pull my hood over top of my head, silently apologizing to everyone before I leap into the air and pull the triggers. My body is whizzing through the air; the hooks finding refuge in the brick of lonely houses until I pull myself onto the brown shingled roof. I don't stop to look around, afraid that if I do then I won't be able to continue and I have already came this far. With a final whisper of anguish I close my eyes, take a deep breath-one that could be my last-and place my fingers at my lips.
