Fight for Love: Chapter 32

I was frozen in shock, left hand fluttering over my galloping heart and I openly gaped at the man that stood in the doorway. His words swirled in mind with the force of a hurricane, pieces of it flying forth and with acute clarity I would hear it. Over and over again.
"Placed in the Military Police."
"Violation."
"Forcibly pulled from your position."
It was all, a horrible nightmare that I was living, I'm leaving, leaving Erwin forever; directly after our engagement as well. It was horrible and I felt like I've been stabbed.
'My fault.' The words rushed forth, sticking to the front of my mind. It's all my fault. If I could have just been strong enough to get away from Erwin, this wouldn't be happening. None of this would be happening.
I couldn't react when Trent took a step toward me, I just watched his approach with wide eyes. And suddenly I was being blocked. Erwin was standing in front of me, his shoulders tense and an arm out to stop Trent.
"What the hell is going on!?" Erwin growled and I knew he was beyond angry.
Trent laughed a low murderous laugh,"You should know shouldn't you? You know the rules and you used to follow them right to the T."
I placed my trembling hand on Erwin's back, the words ringing in my ears. My fault. Erwin tensed up under my touch, like a coiled snake ready to strike,"You're not taking her anywhere." He growled.
"Alright," Trent sneered,"Then the both of you can leave the Military forever."
I know the blow affected Erwin, he has worked so hard for everything he has and it's about to get taken away. He's devoted almost all of his life to his job, and if I don't do something everything he's done won't matter anymore. I step around Erwin so I'm standing next to him and press my shaking hand to his elbow, lowering his arm,"I'll go." Surprisingly my voice is strong, unwavering.
Trent's smile grew,"Excellent."
"What? No!" Erwin yells, he grabs my shoulders and makes me look him in the eyes. His eyes swam with desperation and anger, pleadingly he gazed into my hues,"No, don't, we can get through this without being separated. You don't have to go,"
I fought the urge to submit to his words,"Yes I do." I urgently replied,"Or everything you've done here won't matter any longer. I won't let them take you from the Survey Corps. I'm going and you're staying."
"What smells like cat piss and low ego?" Levi's low voice growled from behind Trent's goons. Instantly they pulled apart, revealing the angered shorty who glared at Trent with the force of a thousand suns,"Oh that explains the smell." He drawls as he walks to stand in front of Erwin and I.
Trent returns the glare wholeheartedly,"The short egotastic bastard is here, great."
Levi bristles,"You're a fucking pile of wombat shit."
"What does that even mean?" Trent laughs.
"It means that I'm about to shove your head up your ass, so you can fuck yourself." Levi smirks,"Besides that's the only way you'll ever get any."
Trent's eyes burned with hate and anger,"I swear I'm going to hit you."
"I dare you chicken shit," Levi says,"I'll hit you so hard your own mother won't recognize you."
Trent grinds his teeth together,"Anyway,"He growls,"We need to go Sakura, so if you will." He holds his hand out as an invitation and I knew if I took it then I won't be back here.
"Can I have some time alone with Erwin and Levi first?" I asked hopefully.
He pulls his hand back, his trade mark smile back on,"Don't try to run off." He turned and motioned for his goons to turn around. They left without a glance back.
Erwin's hands tightened on my shoulders,"We can leave!" He says urgently begging me to listen to him,"Hop out the window and boom we're gone, no one would ever know where we went!"
I shake my head,"I'm sorry b-but I can't."
"Wait, what the hell is going on?" Levi asks with an irritated click of his tongue.
"Trent has notified the Higher Ups about mine and Sakura's relationship." His tone was bitter filled with hate,"So Sakura is being transferred to the Military Police."
Levi blinks in surprise,"Faggot did that?"
I nod sadly, my eyes lock onto the glittering diamond and suddenly I have an idea,"Wait,"I whisper smiling lightly, my eyes lighting with a newfound hope,"We're still looking for the Female Titan, right?"
Erwin, eyes filled with confusion, nods his head,"Yes, we're still trying to figure out who it can be, but it can be anybody."
"Well, think of my transferring as an opportunity to find the Female Titan instead of us being separated."
"I can't think of it like that!" Erwin says urgently,"Even if you do find the Female Titan you'll still have to stay in the Military Police."
"That's not necessarily true.." Levi mutters, gears turning in his head,"Sakura, can find the Female Titan and at the same time try to find out if Trent really did tell the Higher Ups or not."
"Of course he did!" Erwin barks.
"No," I whisper my mind on the same track as Levi's,"Maybe he didn't, and if he didn't and instead passed false transferring papers then he will be-"
"Pulled out of the Military-"Levi starts.
"And thrown into the underground!" I finish with a bright smile.
Erwin blinks finally having caught on,"In other words, while you're at the Military Police you can look for any suspicious behavior that might point to who the Female Titan might be and find out if Trent is breaking a higher law than the one we're breaking."
"Exactly!" I say happily,"And I can send letters to you guys to tell you about how things are going."
"You'll have to code them. Just in case Trent is keeping an eye on the out going mail as well." Erwin says as he gazes up at the ceiling,"We'll code our responses back so only you'll understand them."
Levi shakes his head,"Not necessarily,"He starts,"If she waits to send the letters until Trent is bar hopping or sleeping and even then takes them to a Post Office a couple streets over we won't have to worry about encrypting our letters."
I puzzle over this half formed plan of ours before slowly nodding my head,"We can keep in touch with letters and on the days that I'm off I can ride over here."
"Send your letter in four days,"Levi says as he folds his arms over his chest,"We'll reply as soon as we get it."
"Great!" I exclaim with a smile,"We have some sort of a plan and an amazing way to keep in touch-"
I'm interrupted by the door banging open and Trent strutting back into the room. He places a hand on his hip and sneers at the three of us,"Alright times up." He snaps.
"What?" Erwin says,"We need more time!"
"No, you don't!" Trent snaps back,"Unless you want to hand in your resignation right now that is."
"No,"I say and step closer toward him, my fists balled up at my sides,"There's no need for that, I'm coming."
Trent smiles, that swirl of dark amusement back in his eyes,"Great, let's get going." He curls his lip,"I hate it here it's so...dirty."
Levi scoffs,"Choke on a fucking spoon you shit faced ass kisser!"
Trent ignores Levi and spins on his heel, walking past his shocked goons before stopping in the hallway and glancing at me over his shoulder,"Come along now," He smirks,"I don't want to have to pull you by your hair out of here. That would cause an unnecessary ruckus don't you think?"
My eyes burned with hate, I quickly swallowed the urge to lunge forward and punch the man in the face,"Didn't I say I'm coming?" I snap bitterly.
He shrugs,"You're too slow."
I glare at him,"And you're too fucking impatient." Ignoring him I turn and quickly press my lips to Erwin's,"It's only temporary, alright?" I whisper only low enough for him to hear,"I'll be back, until then take care of yourself, okay?"
He nods his head,"I love you."
I smile sadly,"Love you more."
Trent hisses impatiently,"Come on!"
My eyes harden and with a set jaw I spin around, nod my head at Levi, and stalk toward Trent who smiles happily,"Great! Now you're finally starting to listen."
"Let's just get going before the urge to hit you grows stronger." I snap, narrowing my eyes at him.
"Oh, feisty, you know I like feisty." He goes to poke me and I glare at his outstretched hand.
"Touch me and I'll break every bone in your body."
His hand falls down to his side,"Yeah, whatever let's just leave okay?"
Shrugging I follow him down the hallway the entire time I felt Erwin watching my retreating back until I rounded the corner and disappeared from his sight.
