I locked myself up in my room for days, mourning the passing of my extended family, I didn't sleep unless I was lucky enough to doze off for a couple hours; I didn't eat and not once did I open the door to the barking orders of non other than Corporal Levi.
"If you don't get your silly mother fucking ass out here right now I swear you'll clean the HQ for a week!" He barked at me through my door one time, I groggily raised my head and watched as he banged against the door until he finally gave up and stormed down the hallway.
Hanji has been at my door a couple times as well, gingerly knocking against it and whispering through the doorframe,"Hey Sakura," she breathed,"I know a way we can steal extra food from the kitchen. This amazing girl named Sasha? Maybe you know her, told me about it. We should totally try it!" I didn't reply, I just curled myself tighter around the pillow I was holding and nuzzled my face closer into the damp fabric.
Eren has tried a couple times, the first time he came he broke down,"I'm sorry Sakura. I'm so so sorry." Just listening to his muffled cries gave me enough motivation to roll out of bed and crawl across the cold floor. Pressing my hand up against the wood I listened to him, but I couldn't bring myself to say anything or even open the door. Eventually Mikasa and Armin came and drew him away, leaving me leaning against the doorframe and silently sobbing. The next couple times that he came he excitedly told me things, like how Levi dumped Jean's food on his head and how Hanji tripped over air and landed on Levi. I enjoyed listening to him, he told everything perfect I could picture him making the hand motions to make out what happened with a huge smile on.
Erwin comes every night, he gently knocks against the wood and begs me to come out,"Sakura, come on," he begged once," at least come with me to my room so I can keep an eye on you." I knew he was in just as much pain as I was in, but, yet again, I couldn't pull myself out from underneath the covers. Every night he does this, coming to my door and gently tries to coax me out before leaving with a silent,"I love you." And a heavy sigh.
Mike came once, knocking roughly against the door, at first I was surprised before I heard Levi's voice,"If it's not one of us she'll come out." I scowled, eyes narrowed.
"You're a silly shorty!" Hanji crooned,"If she won't open the door for Erwin what makes you think she'll open the door for Mike?"
"All we have to do is hear the door lock unlock then we can drag her out." Even though their voices were low I could still here them and with a deeper scowl I grabbed a hold of my closest pillow and slung it at the door. The doorframe shook upon impact and the hallway fell silent, not a word was spoken.
"Levi, I think she knows we're here." Hanji commented. I could hear the smile in her voice.
"There's no way the little shit head k-" He's interrupted by another pillow making contact with the doorframe.
"I'm leaving." Mike grumbled,"You guys need to let her get over this on her own."
'Thank you Mike' I thought to myself, I could practically hear Levi scowling,"Dammit." He mumbled before storming off.
"Don't worry Sakura." Hanji giggled,"I was able to talk Levi out of kicking your door down this time." Then she was gone as well, leaving me two pillows short and with another wave of tears.
It was the morning of the fourth day that I was able to get up and move around, I showered, got dressed and hovered right over the door knob. Levi will be here any minute to bang on the door again, so if I want to at least get out of here before I have to face him, now would probably be the best time.
I pulled the door open, locked it behind me and walked to the cafeteria. The lunch ladies were surprised to see me, instantly they gave me another serving of hot food,"We 'ave to keep meat on t'em bones." The Head Cook grinned as she filled another bowl and placed it on my tray, I nodded my thanks at her then quickly found a spot in a rather dark corner to eat my food.
