I opened my eyes to see the sun shining faintly. I sat up and noticed that I was in my room. I dragged myself out of bed and went straight to the bathroom to fix up.

I came out and wore a loose shirt and some tattered jeans before making my way downstairs.

"Morning." Maverick greeted as I walked in the kitchen, "What are you doing up so early?." I asked. I looked at him to see confusion, nervousness and uncertainess etched on his face.

"What's Up?" I asked.

"Alot of Syncs are dying in the Quantum." He shot out. Well that was straight forward. "What do you mean?"

"I went to the Quantum last night and there were news about the elder dead." He said, I looked at him with wide eyes, "Who can kill an elder?" I asked.

"Someone superior to them." He replied without taking his eyes off the tabletop.

"What's higher than an elder?" He asked out loud. I thought for awhile, "The father." I answered. He turned around slowly and looked at me. He ran up to his room and soon after came out holding something.

"Wear this." He ordered as he handed me somekind of futuristic bracelet. "It'll keep you safe." He added. I grabbed it and slid it unto my wrist. "Stylish." I smirked, "It will blink red if danger is near and it will blink blue if another Sync is near." He explained, I nodded but turned to face him, "What about you?" I asked, He just gave me a smile. "Im your protector, Sar. I dont need that. Youre the one I need to keep safe, not me. And besides, Im Maverick Storm." He smiled, I rolled my eyes, "One, You are like my brother... From another father.. And mother. I care about you. And that's what's worrying me, youre Maverick Storm" I smirked. He looked at me and flipped me off. I laughed, "Well Im going to Starbucks to grab something to bite, Wanna come?" I asked. He nodded, "Yes."

I just grabbed a button up polo and wore it over my shirt and grabbed some sneakers. I walked over to the coffee table to get my wallet and phone. "Mav! Let's go! Im hungry!" I yelled, "Coming!" He yelled back, I sighed and sat on the couch. After 5 minutes or so, He finally came out wearing a light blue button up shirt, some red chinos and some chucks with his famous sunglasses.

"Let's go." He announced as he strolled out the door, I shook my head while locking it.

"You got the keys?" I asked, he nodded.

We got in the cafè to see the usual people we see most of the time, like Mr. and Mrs. McGinty, who was having their morning tea. And Roger Wesley on the booth at the end of the Cafè reading the paper and of course little Quincy Anderson, the little boy who lives in the apartment above. Mav and I walked up to the cashier to start ordering.

"Hey Sar, Mav, What can I get ya?" Danny, the best cashier man kind ever has, asked with a smile.

"The usual." Maverick stated, "Same." I followed. He nodded and started making our order. We moved aside and waited.

"Here you go." He said as he handed it to us. "Thanks, Dann-O" I thanked as we walked to our usual place in the middle of the cafè.

"THEY HAVE THE LATEST ISSUE!" Maverick squealed as he pointed at the Game Stop across the street. I followed his finger and looked at the big poster that had Captain America's Face on it. "We are so going there after." He said as I took a bite out of my sandwich.

After Maverick and I finished eating, we stood up and went for the door. I wasnt really paying attention to where I was going since I received a text from my Best friend, but I noticed that my bracelet was blinking blue. I looked around and hit something pretty hard. I looked up to see a man, a bit taller than me, with a plain shirt and some sunglasses.

"Sarah." He breathed, I looked down at my bracelet to see it blinking wildly. Maverick just stood there smirking at us.

"Jimmy?" I whispered.
