Chapter Seven - Old Men

"Sasuke, Point A, 5 meters."

"Sakura, point B, 5 meters."

...............

"Naruto, point C, 5 meters. Beleive it!"

"Tenashiuta?" Kakashi's voice buzzed in my ear.

"Point D, 1 centimeter."

Everyone came out of their spots with sweatdrops on their heads to find me cuddling the cat and it cuddling me. "Mission accomplished. It is Tora, she has a red ribbon on her ear."

We walked back to the Hokage's office, and the cat's owner was crushing it. She walked out happily, and the Hokage gave us some more choices for missions.

"Digging potatoes, babysitting a fedual lord's grandson..."

"No way, those are crappy missions! Give us a real mission, old man!" Naruto yelled, making an X with his arms.

"You fool!" Iruka exploded. "You're the lowest rank, genin fresh from the academy! These D rank missions are perfect for you!"

The Hokage tried to give a lecture, but instead we listened to Naruto talk about ramen. "Yesterday I had beef, so today I was thinking miso..."

"Silence!"

Kakashi rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. "Sorry about that."

"I'm not that little kid that used to pull pranks anymore," Naruto said, "And I want a real mission!" He turned away and pouted.

The Hokage grinned. "Did you hear that, Iruka? Naruto's not a kid anymore and he want's a real mission." His grin grew. "Very well. I will allow you a C rank mission to protect someone to their homeland."

Naruto's eyes widened and he started jumping up and down like crazy. "REALLY!?!?!?! REALY?!?!! WHO IS IT?!?!?! A FEDUAL LORD?!?!? A PRINCESS?!?!"

'I seriously doubt it...' I thought skeptically. 'It should be a relatively unimportant person for it to be a C rank mission.'

"Now, let's not get ahead of ourselves." The Hokage chuckled. "Bring him in!"

The door slid open, and the smell of sake filled the air. It was an old dude with a hardhat. "What!? These are just a bunch of super brats! Escpecially the short one with the stupid face. Do you really expect me to Beleive you're a ninja?"

Naruto laughed. "Who's the short one With the stupid face?" Relizing it was him as we all lined up and he was the shortest (It went me, Sasuke, Sakura, him), he jumped at Tazuna. Kakashi held him back.

"I'll demolish you!" Naruto yelled, eyes blazing, as he struggled to get out of Kakashi's grasp.

Kakashi sighed, still reading his book. "You can't demolish the client Naruto," he scolded lazily. "It just doesn't work that way."

"And you, white haired girl. How can I expect you to be protecting me when you look like a blast of wind could blow you away?" Tazuna scoffed, taking a swing of his sake. My eyes narrowed slightly and my sonic edges slid out bloodily. I quickly healed myself.

Faster than the eye can see, I flashed right up to him and slashed through his sake bottle, doing a lightning-fast spin and ending with one sonic blade at his throat, body turned to the side. His eyes widened and he backed up slightly.

My voice became low and deadly. "Go ahead." I challenged darkly. "Say that again. I dare you." A bead of sweat ran down his face and terror filled his eyes.

"Tenashuta, you can't demolish him either." Kakashi drawled rather uncaringly. My sonic edge retreated and I turned my head to him, my body was already facing him.

"I don't want to demolish him." I monotoned. Tazuna sighed in releif. "If I did, he'd be demolished already." That made him stiffen right back up. I withdrew myself and walked away, leaning against the wall.

"I'm Tazuna, a master bridge builder. I'm building a bridge there and I expect you all to protect me with your lives... And not just from bandits..." he gave me an unsure look. I gave him a reassuring nod.

He didn't look reassured.

Kakashi instructed us to meet him at the gates in an hour. "Bring all of your weapons," he advised, "We leave for the Land of Waves very soon."

I went home and packed so many weapons that TenTen wasn't even compared. I then tripled my weights and left to the gates of Konoha.

Naruto was psyched to be leaving the village and threw his arms up with cries of "Road trip! Road trip!"

"What are you so excited about?"

"I've never left the village before!" Naruto yelled. "I'm a traveler now, believe it!"

"Will I really be safe with this kid?" Tazuna questioned unsurely. Kakashi rubbed the back of his head awkwardly.

"Well, I'm a jounin, and Tenashiuta is actually on your side, so you'll be fine." he said. Tazuna glanced at me, still scared, and didn't say another word for a long while.

We were walking down the path and I saw a puddle. Falling back slightly, I used a clone and leapt into the trees by Kakashi. Seconds later, ninjas came from the puddle and wrapped their chains around our substitutions. They were cut apart.

Sasuke was beating them when Kakashi and I jumped out of our hiding spots and caught them by their necks.

"Yo," we said in unison.
