Kakashi's POV
I woke up on the ground. 'Ugh.. even with Tenashiuta stepping in, I overused my Sharingan.' My head throbbed with pain and my eye ached.
That brought my mind back to Tenashiuta. 'She obviously isn't genin level... Hmm, I'll have to tell the Hokage about this...'
"No need."
My head snapped up in shock. Only now did I realize that she was here. 'How did she sneak up on me so easily...?'
"No need to tell the Hokage. I'm sure he already knows." Tenashiuta supplied, turning and looking out the window.
'How did she know what I was thinking? It was as if she had read my mind!' I looked up at the girl standing in front of me. 'Just who is this girl?' I pondered.
"Maybe I did read your mind." She said in a monotone voice, startling me. "And who I am is none of your buisness. If you're so intent to keep that nose, keep it out of my business, Kakashi." She paused slightly. "And no, Zabuza is not dead."
She stood and began walking out. "Wait!" I called, and she stopped, not turning but acknowledging she had heard me. I figured it was the best I could get from her- she certainly wouldn't turn- and went on.
"You aren't human, are you?" I asked her. Her back tensed, though the rest of her body stayed calm and unwound.
There was a short pause. "You shouldn't make assumptions, Kakashi. I could very well be just a talented girl or a young-looking woman. For all you know. I could be just as human as you are."
"....But you aren't." It wasn't a question, more of a conformational statement.
"...No. No, I am not." Her voice echoed in my mind as she opened the door and walked out, making absolutely no noise. Seconds later, she seemed to drop right off his chakra charts.
Suddenly, a voice drifted about in his brain. 'Stay away from my chakra, Kakashi.' Tenashiuta's voice warned, then faded away.
Shock crossed his face, then left it. 'I really shouldnt be surprised.'
He had no more time to think as the door burst open.
"Hey!" Naruto yelled as he ran in. "Ashi-chan says you're awake!"
~~~Ashi-chan's POV~~~
I listened from just outside the door as Kakashi informed the others, "Zabuza is alive."
"WHAT!!!!!?????" Naruto's voice crackled in my ears.
"But how, Sensei?" Usag-Sakura asked Kakashi. Hmm. Odd. She is the smartest and most advanced in weapon knowledge, I would think she would know.
"He used senbon needles." They all turned towards me as I revealed my presence by the door. "Senbon needles only kill if hit in an ecxact point, and even then they can just stun the opponent. Why would he use senbon? Also, he took the whole body. He only had to take the head and weapon for proof of kill."
They all looked deep in thought. Finally, after a long explanation of tracker ninja and apparent states of death from Kakashi, I announced "Kakashi, I can train them with the trees instead, if you want."
Kakashi looked at me suspiciously. "No, I can do it." He began to get up. I leaned over and grabbed his shoulder, lifting him to his feet and handing him a crutch. He nodded in thanks and we all walked outside.
We were now in the middle of the woods. Sakura asked Kakashi, "Sensei, if Tenashiuta could beat him, why do we have to train?"
"Because someone needs to fend off the tracker nin and protect the bridge builder." Kakashi explained.
I stood on my tiptoes and whispered in his ear, "I'm going to go somewhere else to train. Keep them on track." I turned and hurried off before he could refuse.
I headed to a tall cliff and looked up at it. It towered above me, ridiculously high. I shrugged and reached out, beginning to climb. Even without chakra it was quick and in a matter of minutes I was at the top.
When I reached the top of the cliff I stood at the edge of it, peering down. Even with my very good eyesight, I couldn't see anything but dots I was so high.
I took one last look and stepped off.
The wind tore at my hair and clothes as I free fell. The trees appeared rapidly, soon promoted from dots to circles. I let out a whoop of excitement and cherished the feel of wind whipping against my cheeks.
Just as I was about to crash, two large white wings ripped their way out of my shirt. Blood spurted. I pulled up and began beating with hard, strong beats. I hovered for a second, then shot right back up in the air. Almost imeadiatly I was plunging through the clouds. Drops of moisture accumulated on my skin, only to freeze the second I emerged into the sky.
It was beautiful. The sun glinted off of the moisture in the clouds and made little mini rainbows sparkle everywhere. The sky was completely clear and I could see the tilt of the earth through the gaps in the clouds.
But I soon became too cold to stay and pushed into a headdive. When I was at a comfortable temperature again, I began to practice air maneuvers. I worked with my other sonic edge versions and even made a new teqnique.
I looked at the sun and realized I should probably get going now. I dove back towards earth, pulling up in a clear area and gliding to slow down before touching down. I dug in my heels to stop myself, then headed off to Tazuna's house.
