I shifted into my wolf and ran for the pack house, not caring that I had teared my clothes. Adam was smart and somehow filling that one area with his scent was enough to leave the pack house unprotected. A shiver ran through my wolf form at the thought of what he did to my old pack in a matter of a few hours. I knew if he somehow managed to capture Gianna in one of the most powerful packs, then he must be working with someone who could single handedly take us all down.
Chaos filled my vision as I came into view of the one pristine mansion. There were broken windows and a handful of bodies littering the ground, dead. A few wounded were clearing up the bodies making sure to stay away from the note that Adam had now made his trademark. I shifted back into human form and felt my blood boil at the scent of Gianna's blood mixed with the others.
'I have your little friend, if you want everyone to live, you need to meet me by our old pack house by sunrise tomorrow or she and your little mate die.'
I felt Alpha Silver Lake's presence behind me, but didn't dare turn around as he read the blood written message. Adam's message said nothing about me coming along, but I assumed he ran out of time- and blood- so he thought I would figure it out for myself. Closing my eyes, I knew Matt was trying to enter my mind and see what I was thinking, but it would be obvious once he saw my face. I had no choice but to leave; either of the scenarios would be a lose for me, but I rather my mate and Gianna be alive while I suffer with this situation.
"If I leave now I can make it in time." I whispered, turning to face the Matt and the Alpha.
"I can get my best men to come with you." Ashton said roughly, not tearing his eyes away from the blood written message. This attack had not only taken away his mate, but shown that his pack was not as impenetrable as he believed.
"I- I promise to keep Gianna safe, but you all have to hurry and come up with a plan. I can't control Adam... He's too unpredictable."
Alpha Silver Lake didn't say a thing as he ran into the pack house without another word. I watched as some of the pack members numbly went inside and looked at the mess filling the front yard... The bodies were now gone, but the faint smell of death hung in the air like an eerie warning. I released a deep breath and let my shoulders drop.
"Matt... I need you to come with me. I can't leave you here and potentially be betrayed by Adam... I know it will be hard to say goodbye, but-but I know you'll find a way to stop him." I stumbled over my words looking at my mate.
Matt didn't say anything in response as he looked down at me with a blank expression on his face. I hesitated for a moment, before walking over and taking his hand, placing my hand on his cheek. He sighed, closing his eyes and leaning into my touch, taking my free hand in his. We both knew I had to go if we were to stop Adam, but that meant potentially never seeing my mate ever again.
"I know you have to do this... But I don't think it's smart." He whispered, placing his forehead against mine.
"If I don't go Gianna will die and we both know that there's been too much bloodshed. All you need to do is come up with an ingenious plan, so I'll do my best to keep our link open and leave as many clues as possible for you to find me."
Matt sighed, nodding dejectedly. "I love you Samantha Knight."
