Chapter 30 Plea

It had been hours of walking in the woods and Adam had not spoken up once. He seemed to not know what to do next, as if he'd only planned up to the capturing part- if one could call it that- and nothing further. "So do you truly have a method to all your madness, or is this for you to annoy me for the rest of your life?"

Samantha was tired of Adams games, he never did think anything through and it became more apparent as they walked through the forest. At the rate he was taking, Samantha could have escaped by now, but she knew doing something foolish may not be the correct choice in a situation like this, so she had to respect that.

"You always did think you were the smartest one in the room didn't you Samanthan?" Adam chuckled darkly, flicking his fingers to a nearby tree.

Samantha's gaze followed the trees and she noticed a girl sitting on a branch with a small smile on her face. The smile didn't bring any comfort and the girl chuckled, jumping out of the tree, walking over to where Adam stood, twirling the gun as he faced Gianna and I.

"She told me you'd be here." The girl said to Adam, looking over her shoulder to something I couldn't quite see far out in the distance.

"Can you just tell her that I want to see her!" Adam groaned, but I could hear the desperation in his voice as he spoke to the girl.

"You know I can't do that, father would just kill her if he knew that she'd allow you to pursue your old mate... And I'm sure you wouldn't want to see her hurt would you." The girl hummed with smirk growing on her lips.

"But we can bargain! Take these two as slaves and do anything you'd like and I get to her again... Or even just get to see her again! I haven't even gotten her name damn it!" Adam said in frustration, his hand flailing around, making Samantha's eyes hesitantly focus on the gun he so casually played around with.

"So you're not a crazy, you're just trying to see your mate." Samantha spoke up, interrupting the two. She didn't feel as much anger as she did previously now, just frustrated and saddened for him somewhat. She'd never seen someone go such lengths to be with their mate.

Adam and the girl ignored her and continued their back and forth for a while, before the girl left the border, she assumed, and went back to her spot and another girl made her way out. Adam went rigid at the sight of her and Samantha knew... She was his mate and this scene had just gotten ten times more awkward.

She recognized the girl. She'd only seen her once before, but how could someone forget a member of the Black Miracles pack. She took a step back, pushing Gianna behind her, opening their link and blocking anything out, especially the pain that seared her hand.

She forced a pained yelp away and looked at the darned wolfsbane handcuffs, trying to communicate to Gianna that she needed to be very silent as she opened their link. This is very dangerous Gianna... You need to make sure that whatever happens, that you get away safely, I promised Ashton.

She said quickly, before shutting the link and feeling herself slouch a little from all. She'd need to steady her breathing before she dared link Matt or Ashton. This really was a story for the books, if she lived long enough to tell it at the route they were headed now.

"My sister says you brought me a gift?" The girl spoke to Adam, looking over his shoulder at Gianna and I.

"I need to take the weaker one with me... To keep you safe from another pack, but I'll give you Samantha, she's a beta and her pack is gone... Her mate will die with her gone and your pack can do anything they want to her, but I need to know your name and why you won't be my mate." Adam said desperately.

"My name is Sarah, that is all you need from me right now, throw away your weak one and then come back and plea your case to my father, he is the only one who can accept the mates of my sisters and I, so you better be worthy and so should your offering." The girl replied.

Adam nodded like a transfixed dog and I gave Gianna a parting look as Adam came and grabbed her, dragging her away to goddess knows where.
