Chapter 21 The New Pack

Chapter 21

"Please, we need your help!" Matt begged the third pack Alpha we escaped to. We had tried two other packs before, but each of them rejected us saying it was just too dangerous for their members.

The Alpha looked between the both of us and I moved closer into Matt, shivering as another image of my slaughtered pack came into mind. Matt's arm slinked around my waist and I felt myself melt into him, as a sense of ease filled my body. The Alpha cleared his throat seeming to be in deep thought, before mumbling something to himself and crossing his arms.

"You do understand that you staying here endangers my pack?" He finally replied.

The Alpha was out right gorgeous honestly, with a light tan and a well-built frame that seemed to rival anyone in the room. He was tall with a dazzling smile and dark eyes that were almost as captivating as Matt's. If I wasn't a mated women I'd probably be blushing under his gaze.

"Yes, we understand," I spoke up for the first time, "but I am Samantha Knight and soon to be beta of the Darkness Rising pack and I assure you that I and my mate will do everything in our power to make sure nothing happens to your pack." (A/N I don't remember if I previously stated the pack name, but if I have and you remember it please put the name below so I can change it.)

"My pack doesn't need protecting my dear, we are after all one of the most powerful packs not only in this area, but the entire west coast, so we can take you both in for the time being, but once the matter is settled you both must be on your way." He stated formally, leaving no room for argument.

Matt and I nodded, giving him a bow in thanks. He didn't reply as he turned around making his way out of the office leaving Matt and I alone for a moment. I turned in his arms and smiled slightly, "thank you."

"Aww darling, there's no need to thank me, you know I'd do anything to protect you." He grinned down at me, pecking my lips lightly.

I looked around the room and pulled away from him, walking over to the couch and taking a seat. "We might as well wait for the Alpha to come back comfortably." I sighed, leaning onto the couch and closing my eyes.

Matt took a seat beside me and pulled my head onto his lap and ran his hand through my hair. "Get some rest, I'll wake you up when the Alpha comes back." He whispered.

I let out a little yawn, before nodding and curling up against his body and letting sleep overtake me.

"Just place her onto the bed here, once she wakes up we'll give you a tour of the house." A voice spoke.

I groaned quietly and peeked my eyes open to see Matt speaking with the alpha. They didn't seem to notice I was awake as the conversed quietly to each other. It was slightly difficult to hear them with how quietly they were whispering; it seemed like they were just mouthing the words.

I sat up on the bed and their heads whipped towards me. Matt walked over and held out a hand for me, as the Alpha leaned against the wall. I took Matt's hand and stood from the bed, before looking between the two. "So, what were you talking about?" I question casually.

"Just some safety matters," the Alpha shrugs.

I nod suspiciously, before looking up at Matt who just shakes his head at me before looking away. I sigh just as my stomach rumbles; my cheeks redden and I look at the Alpha. He chuckles and gestures for Matt and I to follow him.

There's something really off about this guy...

I will be editing this chapter and adding more to it, such as detail since this feels a little boring to me personally.

The chapter is just a little filler on whats happening

The next chapter may be in Adams point of view to give a different feel
