Mystery P.O.V
I watched as Adam hid deeper in the forest watching Samantha crumple to ground, crying in Matt's arms. I felt my blood boil at how fascinated the two brothers were with this soon to be betta, but stayed in the bushes in hopes of not being seen. I knew that my scent would be masked by the strong odor of blood, along with Adam who looked as though he just bathed in blood moments ago. None of them knew I was watching. None of them could feel the hatred radiating off of me toward the so beloved Samantha Knight, as she hogged everyone's attention to herself.
Inhaling deeply, I relished in the smell of blood in the field, wishing it had been Samantha's. Faith had been so kind to her, yet she felt as though everyone was out to get her. She would never know how privileged she was. Not only had she captured my fathers' attention away from me, but also my potential mate. I watched as she stood and Matt helped her away from the gruesome scene and somewhere into the forest.
Standing up, I noticed Adam was gone from where he was crouched a few moments ago. Worry set in, as I turned to frantically search for my mate, only to feel panic set in as a voice rumbled from behind me. "Who the heck are you?"
I stiffened momentarily, before turning on my heel and coming face to face with Adam. Even covered in blood he was handsome. His hair was messy, making me want to run my fingers through it and his features were strong, his pink lips so inviting and his eyes seemed to pull me in more than I thought possible. I knew he could feel our bond, as he looked into my eyes.
The sense of familiarity and love was almost overwhelming, but as the daughter of a cold cold man (A/N Comment below if you know the reference), I'd learned to hide my emotions well. I watched as Adams hand trembled at his side, stopping him from making any sudden movements. Deep down I prayed that he would pull me into his arms and tell me he loved me and that whatever he felt for Samantha was gone, but maybe it was too much to hope for.
"Why... WHY ARE YOU HERE!?" He screamed, making me blink in surprise.
"I-There was a scream and I went to investigate..." I replied, lying nervously.
"Get away from me, you- you loser!" I couldn't say anything in reply as he continued to look at me in disgust. I mean I knew I looked like a mess, but I wasn't that bad... Was I?
I steeled my heart and looked him in the eyes, replying "you're the one who came over here. You could have ignored my scent, you could have acted like I didn't exist, but you came over here to find me."
He seemed baffled by response, surprised that someone could defy him like I just had. I ran my hands through my dirty hair, before looking down at my torn clothes, feeling a little embarrassed that he had seen me in such a state. Clearing my thoughts, I turned toward the direction of home, quietly hoping that he would call me back.
"Hey wait!" I paused, a smile spreading on my lips, as Adam made his way to my side.
"Yes?" I said coolly.
"What's your name?"
"My name is- you don't need to know my name yet." I whispered.
"What do you mean I don't need to know your name!? I'm your mate!"
"You don't need my name right now. If there comes a day when it's relevant, I'll tell you." I said strictly, before speeding up and making my way home.
I knew Adam wasn't following me anymore, since the sound of crunching leaves had faded, but deep down, I hoped that he would have enough interest in who I am to follow me home. Sighing I walked passed the houses that Adam had destroyed, surprised that he could have caused all this damage. My mate was quite strong and cruel from what I'd seen these past few days, but I knew he wasn't in his right mind when he did this. He would be a good mate, but right now he needed to let out his frustrations and I would let him, in hopes of home coming to me when the time was right.
