Chapter 6
The Curse
(Elsa's PoV)

Once the color goes away I find myself in dying forest. The trees are bare and the grass is brown. The only significant thing is the boulders laying around everywhere.

"Where are we?" I ask more than a little concerned.

"The Dark Valley," the man replies. Why is everything dark? I think. Then the ground starts to shake and the rocks begin to move. "What have I gotten myself into," I mumble under my breath.

Then the rocks open up to reveal the ugliest creatures I've ever seen. They are nothing like the trolls I remember from my childhood. "It's the Queen!" I hear them exclaim quietly. The begin to whisper among themselves then turn back to me with scary smiles on their faces.

"Why are they smiling like that?" I ask the man. When no one answers me I turn around to find the man is gone. Now I'm even more scared than before.

"Your majesty," one of the trolls walks up to me, "we assume you've come here to fulfill the deal you made with our dear friend, The Portal Creator."

I nod. So it was a portal, I think. "He said you can give me my freedom."

The troll nods, "Yes, but it will come with a price."

I sigh, "What is your price?"

Then the troll turns around and produces a black fog in the air. In it a picture forms. It is me. I can tell.

"You must set a curse upon the land of Arendelle so it's people will pay for what they have done to us. Including you."

I nod slowly. Set a curse? How am I supposed to do that? "How would I put a curse on the land? I'm just a normal person."

"Give me your hands," he says as he puts his hands out. I hesitate. "What are you going to do?" I ask.

"Just give me your hands, Elsa!" he yelled at me. I back away a little at the force and then he said, calmly, "It won't hurt."

I look down at his hands. Then at mine. Then, slowly, I put my hands in his. He closes his eyes and a blast of cold air. Then my hands begin to turn into ice. "What have you done to me?!" I yell at the troll.

The ice spreads up my arms and to my legs. The trolls standing around begin to snicker. My heart begins pounding until the ice hits it and I'm frozen solid.
------------------
I wake up on the ground in the middle of a forest. I get up slowly. My whole body hurts. I look around and see the old man from the library. "What are you doing here?" I ask him. Then I remember where I am and what happened.

"What am I doing here?!" I yell at him.

"Your here because the trolls had me bring you here. I'm here because I'm supposed to show you how to use your powers."

I get confused, "Powers? What powers?"

Then he points at the ground at my feet. It's covered in frost. I jump away from it and the frost follows me. "What have they done to me?" I whisper.

"Come over to the water," the man says to me. He must not have heard me. I shuffle over to the water. It begins to freeze the closer I get. In the reflection I can see myself. But I look slightly different. In my dark brown hair is a single streak of blonde.

"Now," the man continues, "you know what you must do."

Yes. I do.
