Chapter 15
Elsa's Palace
(Anna's PoV)I turn to the boys and reassure them again, "Don't worry. Elsa's not bad. She'll unfreeze it!" they all just nod and we continue on to Elsa.
(Elsa's PoV)
My mother disappears right after I kill her. I'm still fuming from what she said. But now I have to wonder. Was she right? Am I really cold hearted?I shake my head as if that will make the thoughts go away. I can't let them get to me. All I wanted was to be free of my old life. And now I am! I did those people a favor by leaving Anna in charge.
(Kristoff's PoV)
We walk through a valley filled with giant ice spikes. They are seriously everywhere. I watch every single step I take so I'm not impaled."So," I begin, "how, exactly, are planning on stopping this weather?"
Anna looks at me and for a second I'm afraid she'll be stabbed. "I'm gonna talk to my sister."
"That's it?" I ask, "my ice business is riding on you talking to your sister."
"Yup," she replies all cheerfully. I look at her walking so happily and don't notice the giant ice spike I'm about to run into until it hits me. "So you're not at all afraid of her?" I ask, my voice cracking a little. I would be. I just almost got stabbed by her ice.
"Why would I be?"
"Yeah," Olaf says, "I bet she's the nicest," he continues walking but turns towards us. "Gentlest, warmest person ever!" he says as he walks right into a spike. Then he looks down and says, "oh look at that I've been impaled." And laughs a little. What a strange little thing, I think
(Anna's PoV)
We continue walking until Olaf leads us right to a huge cliff. "It's too steep," Kristoff begins saying. I walk up to the cliff. "I've only got one rope and you don't know how to climb mountains."Then I get an idea. "Says who?" I yell to him as I begin trying to climb up the side of the cliff. "What are you doing," Kristoff says. I continue climbing. It's hard work and I want to quit already but I can't let Kristoff know.
"I'm going to see," I say, straining, "my sister."
"You're going to kill yourself," he says. I just ignore him and try to put my foot in a foothold. "I wouldn't put my foot there," Kristoff says and I slip. "Or there," he says as I try to put my foot in another place but slip again.
"How do you even know Elsa wants to see you?" he asks. Out of breath I just say, "I'm just blocking you out 'cause I gotta concentrate here."
"You know," Kristoff continues, "most people who disappear into the mountains want to be alone."
"No one wants to be alone," then I mumble, "except maybe you."
"I'm not alone. I have friends, remember?" I kick my foot up onto a ledge and get it kinda stuck.
"You mean the 'love experts'?"
"Yes, the love experts." It's at that moment I realize I'm completely stuck.
"Please tell my I'm almost there," I gasp, out of breath. "Does the air seem a bit thin to you up here?"
"Hang on," Kristoff says. Then I hear someone running towards us and look over to see Olaf. "Hey Sven!" he says, "I'm not sure if this is going to solve the problem, but I found a staircase that leads exactly where you want it to go."
I laugh, "Thank goodness! Catch!" I then jump and Kristoff catches me. "Thanks, that was like some crazy trust exercise." I say as I jump out of his arms and follow Olaf to the stairs.
Right in front of us is a massive staircase made from solid ice and right behind that is a huge palace also made completely from ice. "Whoa," I gasp at the sight. "Now that's ice," Kristoff says. "I might cry."
"Go ahead, I won't judge." Then we walk up to the stairs. Olaf and I go right up. I hear slipping behind me and turn to see Sven trying to climb the stairs. He just keeps slipping. Kristoff runs up to him, "alright, take it easy, I gotcha. You stay right here buddy." I giggle a little and continue up the stairs. From behind me I hear Kristoff whisper, "flawless."
At the top of the stairs is a door. Not another door, I think. I raise my hand to knock but stop. "Knock," Olaf says behind me. What will happen if I do? I ask myself. "Just knock," he says again. She'll open up, right? "Do you think she knows how to knock?" he whispers. Then I knock. The door opens.
"It opened," I gasp. Then mumble to myself, "that's a first." I start to step in then remember. I turn to Kristoff and say, "you should probably wait out here."
"What?"
"Last time I introduced her to a guy she went a little crazy."
"But it's a palace made of ice! Ice is my life!" he throws his hands up dramatically. "Bye Sven!" Olaf says as he starts walking in but I stop him too, "you too Olaf."
"Me?"
"Just give us a minute," I say to him.
"Ok," he says and I walk in. "From inside I hear him and Kristoff start counting.
