Chapter 7
Eternal Winter
(Anna's PoV)"Where is Queen Elsa?" people asked me.
"I don't know!" That's what I would keep telling them over and over again.
Finally my brain couldn't take it anymore. So I snuck out the back and headed for the fjord. That's when I saw her.
"Elsa!" I yelled, "I mean, Queen Elsa."
She turned around looking startled. "Oh," she said, "it's fine. Just call me Elsa."
I shrug. Then I think, there's something different about her. I just can't put my finger on it. "Elsa," I finally ask, "are you feeling alright? You just walked right out of the dance."
Elsa put her hands up then quickly put them back down. "It's... Just... Nothing. I overreacted a little but I'm fine now. Just lead me to the guests."
"The guests? It's time for you to greet the towns people! Hurry!" Then I grabbed her hand and began pulling her.
"Woah! Anna!" I stopped, "I can walk by myself." Then I nodded and began walking to the front door. Then I realize what is different about her. "What happened to your hair?" I ask her.
She looks startled but shakes her head, "I don't know what you mean." I shrug and keep walking.
(Elsa's PoV)
The people are everywhere. I scan the crowd for the man. There he is. In the very back pretending not to be interested in me.
I begin walking through the crowd of people. "Queen Elsa," "Queen Elsa, "Queen Elsa,"
That's all I hear. Just be quiet! I yell in my head. All my thoughts become jumbled and I can't understand anyone. All of a sudden I stumble backwards and fall onto a fountain.
Shards of ice shoot out of my hand and into the water. The crowd gasps and backs away from me. My head clears and I look behind me. The entire fountain is frozen in a jagged ice sculpture.
I look around at the people who so obviously fear me. Anger begins to cloud my vision until all I can see is the scared looks on their faces. I put my hand in front of me and watch the people back away.
I smile creeps across my face. The kind that you only see on crazy people. But I'm not crazy. I'm just happy. Now for the curse.
I send forth a shower of ice. Then I pull myself up onto the frozen fountain. "Listen here!" I yell to the crowd. I can't see Anna and I'm glad I can't. If I could I might not be able to do what I'm about to do.
"I'm tired of being told what to do! And I'm through with all of this! I don't want to be queen! I never have! And now, as I leave this kingdom, I will leave it to my sister Anna." Anna had scooted to the front of the crowd during my speech and I wink at her.
Then I jump down and begin walking to the fjord. "Elsa!" Anna yells to me. I continue walking. The crowd begins whispering. I guess they haven't realized what I'm going to do yet. Idiots.
I put my foot on the water and it freezes solid. I smile again abc begin walking across the water. At the other side I turn around to see the townspeople looking at me. I raise my hand in the air and let a large burst of snow shoot out.
Then in front of me the fjord begins to freeze over completely and it begins to snow. "Let the eternal winter begin," I say to myself.
