"Come on Maddie, lets go have some breakfast." Jack whispers to me. Still holding my hand, he lead me out of the office and out into the kitchen. Aston, Frost and a few other goons were still in there, laughing and talking to each other. But once they realised we were also in the room, they all went silent. Joker gave them a look saying 'get out now', because that's exactly what they did. Once they were all gone Jack lead me over the the island bench, still holding my hand may I add. "So doll, what do you want to eat?" He asked, smiling at me. This was one of his rare smiles, that as far as I'm concerned, he only shares with me. "I'm not hungry." I smiled. The thought of when he called me his flowed back into my mind. I'm not his, I'm my own. I'm an independent person, I'm no ones. But they way he said it, it sounded so natural. Urgh I'm doing it again, I can't think this. "Hello, Maddie. You listening?" I came back to reality when Jack waved his hand in front of my face. "Um yea, just thinking." I said, giving him a small smile. "Thinking about me?" He smirked. I couldn't tell him that I actually was thinking about him, he'd get the wrong idea. "I was just thinking about how much I can't wait to leave here." I said coldly as I pulled my hand away from his and walked out of the kitchen. Urgh what did i just do? I went upstairs up to Harley's room. I know she was in there, she wasn't anywhere else in the warehouse and she would have told me if she went out. I knocked on her door and called out her name, requesting to enter. "Sure sweetie come on in." She called back to me. I opened the door to find her lying on her bed, well half on her bed. Her legs were on her bed and her upper body was dangling over the edge. Basically she was hanging upside down. "What's up Puddin?" She asked, kicking her legs in the air. It felt kinda weird being called that, the nickname she gave to Jack. Then again, I didn't mind the nickname, unlike Jack, he hates it. I can tell, the look on his face whenever she calls him that, he hates it. "I just need time away from the clown, he's just being annoying." I shrugged, leaning against the doorway. "He's not that bad once you get to know him." She smiled, sitting upright. Easy for her to say, she used to be his lover. We'll sort of.
Harley and I sat in her room for hours, literally, and we just talked. We told each other how our lives have been and how much we missed each other. At one point Aston came in and joined us, the three of us just laughed with each other. I enjoyed it, a lot. I looked over at the clock and it said it was 7:36. I should probably go get ready for this party. "I'm going to go get ready-" "For the thing at Wayne Manner, yea you probably should. You don't want to leave Mistah J waiting." Harley giggled as we both sat up from our lying position. "Are you going?" I ask her as I got off the bed. "Mistah J said this was a mission for only you two, and a few goons. But I don't mind." She just shrugged her shoulders. I wish Harley could come with me, help me do this. I nod my head and walk out of her room, down the hallway, and into my room. I wasn't going to wear the outfit Jack had got for me, I'm just going to wear my leather suit. I walked into my bathroom and untied my hair from the messy ponytail it's been in all day. My black and purple hair dropped down and sat nicely on my shoulders. The bottom half of my hair turned purple when I uh...jumped. But that's a story for another time. I was still wearing my suit from last night, so I didn't need to change. As I was about to leave the room I glanced over at the small black box still sitting on my bed. The necklace Jack gave me. I guess I could wear it, I gotta admit it is pretty. I picked up the box, opened it, and took out the necklace. It's nice that Jack got this for me, well I guess it was Joker who got it for me since it was stolen. Honestly, I'd steal it too. I put the necklace around my neck and made my way down to Joker's office, assuming that is where he'll be. "How come you didn't wear the dress I gave you Angel? I was looking forward to seeing you in it." I deep voice call as I got to the bottom step. I looked up to see Joker standing in the living room in a black tuxedo and black dress shoes, with a purple flower in his pocket. I gotta admit, he knows how to clean up. His bright green hair was slicked back, so you could see all the features on his face. He was playfully pouting his lips. He reached out his hand for me to grab, but I just brushed past him. I can't show weakness towards him. I have to show I don't care about him, even though I'm not sure if I don't. I heard him growl and he then just followed me out into the garage where our rides were waiting.
I could fly to this party, but that would expose my little, well big secret. So I guess I have to go in the Lamborghini with him. I got in the passenger seat and he got in the drivers seat. The trip was dead silent. I just stared blankly out the window, not even paying attention to outside. I heard him mumble a few times to himself, but I couldn't understand him. He's definitely lost his marbles if he's mumbling to himself. I'm worried if I stay around him a and Harley too long, I too will become insane. I don't want that to happen. Suddenly the car came to a stop. "We're here." Joker smiled his signature grin as he got out of the car. I too got out and walked over to where he was standing. He put both his hands on my shoulders and pulled me a bit closer to him, so close I could feel his breath on my skin. "Now listen to me Angel, I'm not going to let anything happen to you okay." He said in a reassuring tone. I know for a fact that Joker is a man of his word, but my question is why would he care if I get hurt. I remember yesterday he almost killed me, now he cares what happens to me. I have so many questions for him, it's ridiculous. "I don't know why you'd care anyway." I said coldly, pulling myself out of his grip. The once demonic grin on his face disappeared into a small frown once I said that. Why am I being so mean to him? Whenever he's trying to take care of me I just push him away. I guess I'm used to being alone, and I just can't change that. Once the van with the henchmen inside pulled up behind us, we made our way up to the back of the house. Well, it was more of a mansion than a house. "Okay Angel, here's where you have to go." Joker said handing me a piece of paper. On the paper was a map of the mansion and a path marked out of where I had to go. It was on the second floor on the left. I nodded my head and turned to walk away, but before I could Joker grabbed my hand. "Remember, I won't let anything happen to you." He said with a reassuring smile. I believe him, I don't know why but I do. I smiled back at him and we parted ways, him and the goons going around the front and I heading around the left side of the mansion. I wasn't going to go through the house, no. I was going to fly up. I kept checking the map until I found the window of the office where I needed to break into. I spread out my black wings and flew up to the window. Using my gun I smashed the window and jumped inside, hiding my wings again. In the corner of the room i heard movement. Crap, I'm not alone. A man dressed in complete black stood at the desk, doing something on the computer. Whatever it is Joker wants, this guy wants it too. I raised my gun to shoot him, but I was too late. BANG...
